None of us are happy about trigger happy cops, but gun culture is killing black people.

From the threat of open carry, which is all about keeping 'them' in their place. To the used gun market, which is about arming... just enough of 'them.'

Gun culture has a narrative. And it is not about self-defense, or hunting, or sport shooting.

Just the possibility of a gun will kill a black person. Guns are the new sheets.

     Think about what's being said here: the existence of guns is what is killing black people. Since black/black violence is by orders of magnitude the most prevalent form of homicide in the black community, the asshole DUmmy is saying that black people are too stupid to not kill each other.

I think it's high time Lamond went outside to the streets of Detroit and preached loudly to his brothers that black lives matter, and so they need to quit shooting each other.

For some reason, I don't think he's willing to do that, probably because it's okay with him that blacks shoot other blacks.

Their anthropomorphization of guns - which are metal, with some plastic - is a whole unique class of silly. One could place a stack of loaded guns in the middle of a large assembly hall full of blacks and not one would be killed by the guns. Killing would only happen if some thug (black, white, pea-green) picked one up and started firing. The killer is the thug, not the weapon (s)he used - gun, knife, whatever.

If DU-member "Albertoo" (quoted by the SSG) keeps posting inconvenient and unpleasant facts like that, his/her stay on DU may be abbreviated, inundated by a flood of Alerts.

You know, the incredibly toxic cultural mindset promoted by gangsta (c)rap music and the like, in which lawlessness, violence (Especially gun violence), drug use, gang membership, rape, and indeed murder are all portrayed as cool, badass, and admirable. It is a cultural mindset in which, in contrast, working hard in school, getting good grades, staying out of trouble with the law, and finding success in any career field not directly related to sports or entertainment are viewed as lame, dorky, and "Selling out to the white man." It is a cultural mindset which, like the virus it truly is, has infected so much of the black community nationwide and been one of the main contributors to most of the major problems that blacks today face.
