Does the username "Frank Solich" sound familiar to anyone?
He donated $10 to my wheelchair ramp campaign, but left a nasty message along with the donation. Isn't he one of those people from That Hate Site? I refuse to go there, so I am not sure. Still, that's pretty low. I don't understand why these people hate me so much just because I am poor and disabled, and I need help.

Liberals disgust me. (Now I don't have to remember to put it on each post).

Because only the left goes searching for that which is not there in a desperate attempt to be offended about something.

Oh my.

The lyrical primitive is trying to build credibility among her fellow primitives; I'd expected something like this.

Anyway, a screen-capture of my "nasty message" can be found at comment 60:
http://conservativecave.com/index.php?topic=109025.50

She'd erased it, although I dunno why.

Okay, so I go over to the lyrical primitive's gofundme site.

It's obvious what's going on here; she's trying to drum up donations, which have slown down to something between a crawl and a stand-still.

Nothing wrong with that, because she needs to raise tons more.  It just might work.  I dunno.

She erased it hoping no one could fact-check her bid for DU-Cred. I guess she didn't anticipate that you would do a screen-capture that would prove she lied (or has a very flexible definition of "nasty").

Smooth move, frank! Obviously based on years of study of the online habits of DU-folk and other Progs.

I figured she'd turn on me; the primitives always do, after one's done them a favor.

For the cost of a ticket to the movies, I got amusement out of it, and she of course got ten bucks.

So I assume we're both happy.

She asks for $5, you give her $10.

You leave a message to use the money towards building the ramp, she calls it a nasty message.

She initially shows proper decorum by writing you back, thanking you for the donation, and telling us all Hi. Then she calls us haters.

That is one mixed up chick.

11. I think you're right. I just got anothet email from the GoFundMe "Trust and Safety" team

So they must be filing complaints against me again. At this point they seem to want me to produce receipts for every dollar spent from the campaign. I didn't know that I needed to save the receipts! I hope that taking pictures of the wheelchair repairs and the shower seat and bars will be acceptable. And the $70 I spent for a membership to a health center with a heated pool that specializes in rehab for spine patients. It's $35 a month but they required a $35 deposit as well. I also paid for a new walker and a cane, and some supportive pillows for my bed so I can sit up, and new seat cushions for my wheelchair. We are waiting to hear back from the Center for Independent Living about the costs for the wheelchair ramp. We can't do anything about that until we have more information.

I feel so frustrated and scared. I am just trying to make my disabilities a little easier to cope with. Have I done anything wrong??

I think she's getting desperate because the dollar totals haven't budged a bit.

Maybe I was wrong--I've been wrong before--in supposing that if she could successfully convince the primitives that she's a "victim" of "reich-wing harassment" (quotation marks all intentional, and sarcastic), the bucks would pour in.

Because the fund-raiser seems stuck, I myself considered making another donation, because I'm a nice guy and so as to demonstrate to the lyrical primitive that I have no hard feelings.  She's not any different from other women, going from loving to hating overnight because of biological factors that interfere with her body acting normally.

But Joe Gomez and Jose Martinez--Joe and Jose--were here this afternoon; the past four months the property caretaker's been preoccupied with a big construction project in town, and so his two guys have been taking care of this place.  Jose, the shorter and darker of the two Texans, wanted to borrow ten bucks from me so he could go out and get drunk.

I wasn't fond of the idea, and told him that yeah, I had ten spare bucks, but I planned on giving it to a woman in need.  He grinned, telling me women didn't want my money; they wanted something else.  (I dunno if that's true or not; I'd take it with a grain of salt.)

I reminded him this woman in need is really poor, and ten bucks to her probably means more than a hundred bucks to him.  I pointed out she lives in a trailer house, which around here is considered the next-to-the-final degradation and humiliation; the last stop before homelessness.

"She's so poor," I said, "that when a mouse ends up snapped by a mouse-trap, the carcass rather than being thrown into the trash, gets tossed into the stew-pot.  She's so poor that she wraps her feet in newspapers rather than socks.  She's so poor that she 'borrows' electricity from the neighbors by running a hidden extension cord their way.  She's so poor that she collects rain-water rather than paying the water bill.

"But oddly she's not so poor that she can't afford to own just about every kind of electronic toy and gadget on the market, cameras, computers, DVD players, wi-fis, iPods, cellular telephones, PlayStation games, whatever else."

After saying that, and realizing what I'd just said, I loaned Jose the ten bucks.

14. Frank Solich is much beloved former football coach

from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. There is a "franksolich" at that other website, who has misappropriated the coach's name. They are not in any way the same person. Not even close. The original is a talented man who worked hard to create winning teams. The other is a misanthrope who leads a scurrilous website that attacks people who disagree with him.

The two should never be confused with each other.

Misappropriated the coach's name?  What a rock headed simpleton.  Has franksolich committed some kind of identity theft? No.  Tried to pass himself off as this football coach?  No.

Go find a taco truck, you dumb ass.

Yeah, I've told the "why" of it so many times I have it memorized.

The screen-name "franksolich" goes way back before anybody ever heard of the former Nebraska head football coach; to 1994, to be exact.  I'm sure that by now, 22 years later, it's one of the oldest screen-names on the internet still in existence.

Being naïve when I first got introduced to the internet that year (1994), I'd wanted to use my real name as my screen-name, but found out it'd already been taken.  Which was a good thing, I guess, but I didn't realize that at the time.

I wanted to have a screen-name suggestive of solidity, integrity, principle, ethics, moral standards, clean sportsmanship, fair play.  Alas, "georgebush" was already taken too.

The sports section of the Omaha World-Herald was laying on the floor by the chair in front of the computer, and I picked it up to see if I could cull any inspiration from the stories therein.  There was one story about a then-unknown high school football coach in Omaha; I vaguely recalled he'd played for Nebraska during the mid-1960s, and had been a star, even though he was tiny.

Now, that was a name suggestive of solidity, integrity, principle, ethics, moral standards, clean sportsmanship, fair play.  Happily, "franksolich" was available, and I snapped it up.

It was only by coincidence that the guy a few years later became famous and much beloved by us.

Nebraska football fortunes have declined precipitously the past fifteen years, and I think it could be attributed to God being pissed off that Nebraska fired the then-winningest head coach in college football--or rather, the madman in the athletic director's office fired him.

Because of the madman, who himself wasn't replaced until a few years later, I'm also sure that God has doomed Nebraska to spend the same amount of years wandering in the desert, as Moses and the Chosen People did, forty years in the football wilderness.  (So we still got a quarter of a century to go, before we're back in the Promised Land.)

Just because of somebody's ****ing ego, we lost the services of a decent and civilized man, a man of quality and principle and integrity, a man who cared more about Nebraska and Nebraska football than his puffed-up idiot boss did.

I'm proud to use the name, but alas for the primitives, no one can show where I've ever misrepresented myself as being the real thing.  No way.  This franksolich is even by idiots discerned to not be the real thing.

Misappropriated the coach's name?  What a rock headed simpleton.  Has franksolich committed some kind of identity theft? No.  Tried to pass himself off as this football coach?  No.

Go find a taco truck, you dumb ass.

I doubt anyone here believes "SVPete" is my real name. Nor have all the guys in Silicon Valley named "Peter" or "Pete" sued me to stop using the forum name "SVPete".

Evidently I MM was desperate for some pretext for a sneer, however weak and strained.

Liberals disgust me. (Now I don't have to remember to put it on each post).

Because only the left goes searching for that which is not there in a desperate attempt to be offended about something.
