This media "horse race" theory is shouted back and forth endlessly at the DUmp but for what reason?
Do they actually think that denying reality will somehow change it?
IMO, the MSM fostered the "horse race", with a chosen "favorite" in the D and R primaries of 2008, the R primary of 2012, and to a limited and qualified degree in the R and D primaries of 2016:
* In 2008, the MSM favored BHO and McCain during the primaries - practically resurrected McCain - but were setting up McCain to fall. After McCain had the R nomination sewn up, the MSM swiftly turned on him, though he was too buddy-buddy with MSM people to recognize what they were doing to him;
* In the 2012 R primary, the MSM favored Romney and took out Cain and Santorum for him; after Romney had the nomination assured, they turned on him;
* In 2016 the MSM took out Ben Carson, favored Kasich, and tried unsuccessfully to take out Trump during the R primary season; on the D side I think the MSM leaned Bernie ideologically, but went with
The SHREW as more electable; the full-court-press attacks on Trump have continued; the MSM (and BHO's peeps) have worked to shield
The SHREW on Benghazi, the email server, and
The SHREW's health, with limited success due to revelations and incidents such as last week's near collapse.
DU-folks' fixation-theory that the MSM have been propping up Trump to sell papers and gain listeners/viewers is willfully blind silliness. The MSM have been full-court-press attacking Trump for over a year. The closest they come to recognizing that reality is their partial recognition that Trump has parlayed those attacks into free advertising; DU folk refuse to recognize the attacks as attacks (MSM folk seem blind to the reality that Trump anticipated them and turned their attacks to his advantage).
