The Air Academy Federal Credit Union has announced it no longer wishes to have Marshall as one of its ambassadors.
“Although we have enjoyed Brandon Marshall as our spokesperson over the past five months, Air Academy Federal Credit Union (AAFCU) has ended our partnership,†president and CEO Glenn Strebe wrote Friday in a statement on the company’s Facebook page. “AAFCU is a membership-based organization who has proudly served the military community for over 60 years. While we respect Brandon’s right of expression, his actions are not a representation of our organization and membership. We wish Brandon well on his future endeavors.â€

Not only do I denounce your ending your partnership with Brandon Marshall, I deplore your support of mandatory patriotism, as defined by you. My definition of patriotism, by the way, is not blind genuflection to the symbols of your country, but loving your country and all of its citizens enough to stand up for its principles, including honest freedom of expression, and continually working to make it a better place. As a family with multiple veterans who sacrificed for your freedom, we are ashamed of you for dropping sponsorship of Brandon Marshall because he exercised his First Amendment right to protest. I am encouraging ALL veterans to stop banking with you.

The fact that every person on your page telling you thank you for dropping your endorsement is white says so much. And it really highlights who you're catering to. I guess their comfort and false security is more important to you than the lives of actual citizens, including veterans, dying in police brutality. And I guess you think we should pick and choose which things veterans are fighting for. How cowardly of you. Shame on you I hope you lose customers. In North Korea if you don't stand for the national anthem you and your family end up in a prison camp. Is that what we want as a country? Soldiers fight for freedom and freedom is having the choice to NOT stand if you are in protest! It is in NO way disrespectful to troops but really a tribute to how free we are!
