My computer died and so while it was off being repaired ($300.00) I was stuck listening to good old fashioned AM and FM radio. I was really surprised how so much of it was RIGHT WING RADIO and or CHRISTIAN RIGHT radio. Since this was San Francisco, I did hear a few stations in Mandarin and Cantonese Chinese, or one or two East Indian stations.. But I ended up listening to Sports radio (Damn! Giants fell out of first place!) or George Noory on his Coast to Coast Radio. (I think I miss Art Bell, at least he wasn't political..) KGO talk radio is nothing like it used to be. Its all either Moderate or Rightwingish.. with a few exceptions, (John Rothman.) and KCBS News isn't news! Its a 30 second sound bite.. which makes you wish you at least had a newspaper to read something more in depth about what's going on in this country. The Olympics of course dominated and while visiting my doctor, the TV sets all had the stations on the Olympics. Good on Team USA for beating Poland in Volleyball.

I am rather disappointed and Frustrated with AM Radio. Its been so over taken by Religious Right wing Donald Trump supporters. (Gagged when Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh was on, I quickly turned it off. I can't even listen to right wingers any more. They are insane!!)

Glad to have my lap top back, and glad to have access to real news and events again. Maybe I should consider having a back up computer just in case this happens again. AM Radio is a desert wasteland with Republicans screaming in the foothills like Coyotes!

I guess the dude either has not heard of KPFA (Pacifica Radio, Berserkeley) or doesn't receive it. I think there's at least one NPR station (KQED?). KGO has had a couple of mass talent lay-offs in the past 2-4 years, but "Moderate or Rightwingish" is a serious overstatement. KFAX, 1100, has been a Christian/religious station for decades, and while Family Radio traded ifs FM station for KFRC's old AM 610, that happened quite a while ago (more than a decade?). Some of KGO's laid off talent went to a station also owned by Cumulus, and are basically liberal.

But, exaggeration aside, conservative station KSFO is the big TalkRadio gorilla in the Bay Area. It's successful.

Holy cow! KKSF 910, where KGO refugees went, changed format some 4 weeks ago to ESPN Spanish. And 960, which once carried Err America, is all business news/talk.

I am talking off the cuff here so may be wrong but I think this was some Mediterranean area primitive that was high and dry by the euro peaon union going bankrupt so was hoping that a commie US government would somehow keep the freebie gravy train a rolling.

That is weird. And unless it was a fairly new medium-high-end machine he would have done better to buy a new low-end laptop plus one of those devices into which one can plug a hard drive so as to access its data from the new computer (BTDTGTTS).

The DUmmie does not own a smartphone or iPad otherwise it could have listened to any number of apps that stream radio stations with the format it was interested in.

This is half-know-for-sure, half speculation, so I might, or might not, be right.

I think this primitive's a white guy trying to pose as an Oriental because it's "cool" to be Oriental, much in the same sense as the KamaAina primitive, who's actually a white guy too, but posing as a young chic Oriental woman.
