I don't care to look it up, but just the other day one of the guests on FBN was saying that at a similar point in their campaigns, Dukakis was up more than Hitlery is now.

Heard that elsewhere recently too.  Dukakis was up by double digits about this time of year in '88.

Seventeen points.  Not insurmountable by any stretch of the imagination.

Big difference: George H. W. Bush was clearly sane and intelligent.

And on the other hand, Dukakis didn't have anything remotely like Hitlery's baggage.

I've never seen such dishonest, crooked "polling" in my life as what's going on now.

I suggest people not bother paying attention to them, and just go by gut instinct and intuition.

No big Trump fan here... however I would like to point out that he has been left for dead before and came back to win the nomination.

I think the real key here for Trump is to win the so called swing states.  He does have an uphill climb as any GOP candidate does thanks to the biased reporting from the MSM.  I think much depends on if he can control his mouth for the next 3 months and not get distracted.

There was a link on Drudge today to a piece that mentioned that, in online polling by Reuters and other respected organizations, that there was a fairly large segment of respondents that would not respond for Trump if they were called by telephone, but because online polls are much more anonymous, they would indicate Trump.  Something on the order of 4 to 8 points.

My intuition says that, combined with the 'real-world' stories of the economy doing horribly (just look at all of the people out of the workforce), the Wikileaks emails tying HilLIARy to the arming of ISIS (Julian Assange's 'October Surprise'), the very real baggage that HilLIARy has from her years in the political process, and the fact that it's rather difficult for the same political party to hold the White House for three terms, plus the anti-establishment mood in the electorate, all add up to Donald J. Trump being elected as the 45th President of the United States of America.

They'll tout the economy, and in a way it is great...great for Hitlery's donors, that is.  The hedge fund managers, investment bankers, and their ilk have done great in a 'free' cash environment, with no place to put it for a return except stocks.  So for the few who have the access to get that zero-to-quarter-percent Fed money, and those selling stocks to them and trading that stock back and forth, it has looked fantastic.  Unfortunately in that artificial environment, stock price has wandered away from being a direct measure of value, becoming just a measure of relative value in an ultimately-fragile structure.

You'll hear lots of talk about reducing the deficit.  It's meaningless, since that reduction has been achieved by 'selling' that same huge amount of zero-to-quarter-percent Fed money and other government debt instruments into the market.  There are a huge number of balls in the air in a game that only gravity will eventually win. and the longer it takes to hit the ground the uglier it will be.

Not all that sure about that.  Quite frankly, his squishy shit led us on the path we are on, now.

I take polls with a grain of salt. I think this will be a close election. Perhaps a repeat of 1876, 1888, or 2000?
