Kansas police officer shot and killed responding to shooting report
http://www.foxnews.com/us/2016/07/19/kansas-police-officer-shot-and-killed-responding-to-shooting-report.html

Quote
A Kansas City, Kan. police officer was shot and killed Tuesday afternoon while responding to a reported drive-by shooting.

Officials said Capt. Robert David Melton, 46, was pronounced dead at University of Kansas Hospital at 2:55 p.m. local time.

Later Tuesday, authorities said the suspected shooter was caught about a block away from where Melton was shot. The suspect was being questioned along with a second person suspected in the initial drive-by. A third person who had been taken into custody was determined not to have been involved and was released, police said.

I have posted this to numerous forums and it seems that ... No One Cares!?

Are people beginning to just accept it as a normal occurrence?
Or do they really not Give a $H!t??

Check your premises, my friend. "Posting on the Internet" and "giving a shit" are not synonymous.

So posting some tidbit about .. oh I don't know, Kim Kardashian(sp?) and getting 500 responses compared to the 2 or three responses on murdered police shouldn't lead me to any kind of a conclusion? :hammer:

Actually, no. One has no correlation to the other. People will talk, or not, as they choose, and I draw no conclusions from it.

I haven't said much about it here, but I did talk about the shooting, and the responses in local agencies, on the radio the past 2 nights.

I met CPT Melton a couple of times professionally, in his capacity as a Kansas Army National Guard officer. I can't say that I knew him.

I hope that killing an LEO is a capital offense in Kansas. :censored:  :argh:

First degree murder of anyone is, but the state hasn't executed anyone in 51 years.

Note- I oppose enhancement for crimes when the victim is an employee or agent of the government, just as I oppose 'hate crime' enhancement.
