One more point they don't seem to realize:
The Dallas shootings were done sniper- style. It would be pretty freaking difficult for citizens with CCW's to return fire on a sniper whose very location would be hard for most to discover.
These attacks were done by a rifleman firing from a prepared defensive position with an SKS. If it was a sniper attack, they would have not found the shooter so easily. Everything from his choice of weapon, to how he went about conducting his attack is more reminiscent of an armed irregular insurgent in Iraq, than a sniper.
All this attack shows, is that the shooter in this case put some thought into a defensive position. And some thought into his fields of fire. That is exactly what I would expect out of any insurgents in Iraq or Afghanistan. This is what fighting in a city looks like: It is messy, it is close range, and it is hard to find your attacker.
He was not trained as a sniper. He did not serve as a sniper. Do not give this shitbag the distinction of being called something that he was not. He was a coward with a rifle, plain and simple.
