PUMA power
« on: August 01, 2008, 04:26:38 PM »
Oh my.

You know, the Obamaite primitives on Skins's island (as distinct from the ordinary run-of-the-mill primitives), have been all hot and bothered about a certain web-site (alas not this one; the primitives don't pay any attention to us) founded by Democrats who had supported the worthier Democrat candidate for the the Democrat nomination for the presidency.

This place really bothers the Obamaite primitives.

I decided to check it out, and while it's not a bonfire brought over here from Skins's island, it perhaps belongs in this forum, the DUmpster, as "background" information for when watching the primitives.

I'm not sure if this is the web-site the Obamaite primitives fear, but if not, it's close.

http://riverdaughter.wordpress.com/puma-power/

If anyone knows of similar web-sites, please holler.

Anyway, the introduction to this web-site; I haven't yet explored all of it, but it looks interesting, compelling almost:

Quote
The Party Unity My Ass un-Party (PUMA) was born June 1, 2008. We already have many new members. But, some of you may ask, what does it mean? How can we make a difference? Before I get to that, I’d like to refer you to one of Anglachel’s latest posts, The Idea of Obama. I think that what Anglachel is describing is a kind of “puppy love” or an infatuation. The situation we have here is precisely the reason why superdelegates were created in the first place. There is a unacknowledged immaturity about the Obama faction that many parents among us will recognize. Here’s the money quote:

The deep problem of Obama’s campaign is that he and his supporters do not want to face the political reality of their own conflicting desires. They both want to sweep to victory in November and they want to purge the party of anything connected to the Clintons, which includes all of the voting contituencies represented by that amazing and talented duo. The failure of the Unity Pony stems directly from that fantasy of majority status without majority support and the political work and compromises that go with cultivating that support. Thus, their model for unity is unanimity through elimination, purging the ranks of the unclean and unbelievers.

They will not acknowledge that Hilalry is a legitimate political actor and reduce her to an inhuman monster and enemy. They will not acknowledge that her supporters have sound, rational reasons for our support, and reduce us to mindless fools and spoils of war. They shift blame for their own choices and actions onto us and expect that we will cater to their whims.

Like adolescents, they insist on making their own decisions and yet expect us to get them out of a jam later. They hate us because of who we are and yet they need us in order for them to get what they want. And the superdelegates are the too permissive parents who are giving in to them because they can’t handle the screaming and guilt trips that will follow if they don’t.

This is where we come in, PUMAs. We will fill the role that the superdelegates have abrogated. It is our job to say “no”. We do not want to lose in 2008. We do not want another four years of Republican rule. We want 4 years of intelligence, competence and courage in a time of what will surely be a very critical time in our nation’s history. Terrorism is still out there. There are two wars going on. Our military is stretched so thinly that our national security is compromised. We have an energy crisis and many families are hurting. Our financial institutions got themselves over their heads. And there is a serious environmental catastrophe at hand in global warming.

Now is not the time to put a love object in office, a weakling who will be entirely dependent on his power elite enablers. Or worse, he may be a dissembler who has barely disguised his contempt for the voters.

There will be a lot of calls for “Unity!”. But let us acknowledge what this really is. “Unity” is a weapon that the party is going to use against us. It is the emotional blackmail of the teenager. “If you don’t let me have my way, it will be all YOUR fault if something bad happens!” “If you don’t get in line, it will be YOUR fault if we lose.”

Don’t give in to this. This is where a parent’s mettle is tested. When the stakes are not high, like staying up too late on a school night, we can afford to let them live with the consequences of their actions. When the situation is critical, we have to be firm. We have to give them choices. We have to tell them that we will not be willing participants in their destructive behavior. We have to tell them that the consequences of their behavior will fall on *their* heads. We have to take away the car keys. Not ground them. Just not aid them in doing what they want. We have to exert our authority.

That goes for superdelegates as well who are failing in their responsibilities. We will hold them accountable as well. If they allow these children to run the house, they will have to live with the consequences, not us.

Barack Obama is a ruthless campaigner who has brought out the worst in the political system but no matter how far he has come, he is a failure. He has failed to live up to core Democratic principles, He has failed to respect the voters. He has failed to disguise his contempt for average, hard working American men and women. And because he has failed in so many ways to appeal to the electorate at large, he will fail the ultimate contest. He will be a failed presidential candidate. We do not wish to be associated with failure while there is still time and an opportunity to avoid it.

We will not be blackmailed into party unity in order to indulge irresponsible people in their fantasies. Our votes belong to us and we will do with them what we feel is best for us, the party and the country.

I've been watching the PUMA's mostly via http://www.hillaryclintonforum.net/discussion/.  There is an ongoing controversy about Obama's birth certificate and citizenship eligibility.  Mostly I've seen that at http://texasdarlin.wordpress.com/. AND OF COURSE, the Long Thread at FR http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/news/2040486/posts (go to the end and work back, it is very interesting!)  Texas Darlin has really brought out the Obamabots in force in the last 24 hours.

I can barely stomach the DUmp because they are so in the can for Obama...I imagine there are strains of bots in their midst.  The bots HATE PUMA's and I gather the DUmmie's have a strong dislike as well.  They may dance around the uniting behind the candidate mantra, but they don't mean it.

It's been very interesting to watch how the Hillary (PUMA) supporters and conservatives looking to pull the rug out from Obama are combining forces.

I gotta admire those gals.  I know...there are guys in their ranks...but somehow it strikes me as soooo feminine.   :-)

Well, they hate Capital Hill Forum with a passion.  It warms my heart that I could bring them so much angst.

I guess Obama is the uniter....he unites PUMA and conservatives in a common goal!

Well now, to be honest here, the only common goal PUMA and conservatives ever had was that Hillary Clinton was the best the Democrats had (have) to offer, and so it would have made one Hell of a great knock-out drag-out exciting race.

I've always considered the Republican-Democrat thing much like the old Nebraska-Oklahoma football rivalry; two of the most top-notch college football teams in the country banging heads in good sportsmanship; those were always great games.

But that would be with a John McCain-Hillary Clinton competition; with a John McCain-Barry "Goldwater" Obama race, it's more like the old Nebraska football team against the old Kansas State football team (I'm talking about a long time ago here, pre-1990), just dreadfully and abysmally boring, and one could hardly wait for the last gun to go off, ending the game.

As a diehard lifelong rockribbed Republican, I'm really sorry the Democrats didn't keep their heads and select the worthier candidate for president.

You know, there's a postgraduate student in soil science working at this place (this old homestead; not my homestead, I just happen to live here) analyzing an enormous mound of a certain porcine by-product that originated circa 1875, but never mind, it's a long story.

Anyway, she's from Maryland, and is only moderately interested in politics, but her choice was for Hillary Clinton.

We had a few cursory conversations about it, and one time she asked me if it HAD to be Hillary Clinton OR Barry "Goldwater" Obama, no other alternative, who would I favor.

Hillary Clinton in a heartbeat, I told her; I disagree with the junior U.S. Senator from New York 99% of the time, but if it HAD to be, Hillary Clinton in a heartbeat.  National security, the continued survival of the United States as a decent and civilized nation, is the most important thing to me, and if it HAD to be, well, I suspect Hillary Clinton cares about America and its preservation a Hell of a lot more than Barry "Goldwater" Obama.

Remember, that's comparing two Democrat candidates, not a Democrat and a Republican candidate.

Anyway, as it turned out, this student was badly treated by her co-partyites favoring Barry "Goldwater" Obama; called names, sneered at, mocked, abused, made fun of, all but excluded from the Nebraska Democrat caucuses.

She has a strong sense of party loyalty (to the Democrat party, of course), but while I don't think she's going to be voting for John McCain, it looks to me as if she's not going to vote for Barry "Goldwater" Obama either, leaving that blank and voting for the Democrats lower-ticket.

The Obamaites could learn something from Dale Carnegie's How to Win Friends and Influence People.

This PUMA site is the kind of thing I could see having popped up no matter who became the Democrat Party nominee.

Be it Her Thighness or Barakstar!....both feel that they are entitled to the Presidency and their ultimate goal is as much power as possible.

This PUMA site is the kind of thing I could see having popped up no matter who became the Democrat Party nominee.

Yes, of course, and probably one put out by the Obamaite primitives would have been rollickingly funny.

Now, really, there isn't much common ground, other than maybe a few specks and clods of dirt, between this side and the supporters of the worthier Democrat candidate for the Democrat nomination.

Other than.....

The Obamaite primitives on Skins's island, and the Obamaites in the real world, appear to think their man can win without 49.9% of the Democrat party, and acting upon this ludicrous belief, the Obamaite primitives on Skins's island, and the Obamaites in the real world, maligned, denigrated, humiliated, cursed, abused, slandered, mocked, ridiculed, dismissed, trashed, threatened, lied about, villified, maligned, smeared, the supporters of the worthier Democrat candidate.

Sort of the way the primitives on Skins's island treat us; that's our common ground.

I suspect that if Hillary Clinton was the presumptive Democrat nominee, yeah, sure, there might have been some taunting of the supporters of the losing Barry "Goldwater" Obama, but nowhere to this degree.

The supporters of the worthier Democrat candidate strike me as being more knowledgeable, more practical, more realistic, than the Obamaite primitives on Skins's island and the Obamaites in the real world.  Politics is their life, while cloudy dreams are the life of Obamaite primitives and Obamaites.

I suspect if Hillary Clinton was the presumptive Democrat nominee, that her supporters would follow the number one rule of politics--it's okay to disagree, but don't piss anybody off if you don't have to.

The Obamaite primitives and the Obamaites don't know this rule.

Supporters of the worthier Democrat candidate, both in the real world and on the internet, strike me as somewhat, uh, more professional, more savvy, more serious, more knowledgeable, a higher brighter class of people, than the Obamaite primitives and the Obamaites.

(In case any of them are lurking here, I am not kidding; I am dead serious.)

I suspect that if Hillary Clinton was the presumptive Democrat nominee, her supporters would be showering and bouqueting and courting Obamaite primitives and Obamaites with palm-leaves or olive branches or whatever, soothing their hurt feelings.

There's people with class, and there's people and primitives with no class.

There's people with smarts, and there's people and primitives with no smarts.
