I wonder if her private server was infected and the email she was sending was loaded with malware. The State Department's anti-virus software was probably whacking the infected email as it came in. Hillary then threw a fit (and some lamps and ashtrays) and had the State Department turn off their anti-virus so her emails could go thru.

It took 56 responses on that thread for some one to notice and point out one of the most critical facts in the AP article "philosslayer" linked?!!! It wasn't just The SHREW's email server that was almost wide open to hackers! And the AP article, as it currently stands, does not say for how many days or weeks or ???? the relevant State Department servers were wide open to hackers.

Ummmm, no, Part 1: State Department IT people did not set up or control The SHREW's email server.

Ummmm, no, Part 2: The State Department IT people who disabled security on State Department servers did so at the "request" of The Mouth of The SHREW, Huma.

But I guess "philosslayer"'s need for a bogeyman to blame-shift overrides reality.

ETA: In fairness to "philosslayer" - a fairness he would not extend to this "Fundamentalist" "Gopper" - in the initial version of the article, the AP got a key fact wrong. The AP initially reported that security was disabled on The SHREW's email server, not - as was the case - on the State Department's server. The MSM getting a key fact totally wrong? Who'd athunk it?!

She gave him a special appointed position at State in the IT group. State IT wondered who the hell he was.

Any incompetence is on her and her hired help's heads.

NSA told her "no" on having a secure Blackberry like Obama's and she went her own way setting up her own personal email scheme.

I'm trying to figure out what malware scanners have to do with 2 SMTP servers not being able to communicate. I seriously doubt this is what was affected. When private orgs want secure email, both sides must setup and enable TLS (Transport Layer Encryption) so that the SMTP transmissions are encrypted where private tunneling is not available. I'd be willing to lay money down that is what was going on here. The moron who setup her server couldn't get TLS to shake hands with the SD server, or he couldn't get through the SD red tape to get the right people to coordinate and they gave up and disabled it... leaving transmissions being relayed back in forth in plain text format. And that IS a very serious security issue. Cankles malware scanner doesn't have a damned thing to do with the State Departments external facing email servers.
