Do you believe that "We, the People", are the "government"?

If not, why would anyone surrender their guns to a "government" that does not represent "we, the people"? How much should we trust the "government"? A big part of our government, an entire political Party, refuses to do anything to protect or represent the interests of we, the people, it seems to me?

These aholes are sure coming out the woodwork since this Orlando shooting.

The DUmmie has a valid point. The Democrat party panders/buys votes to stay in power. Making life better for everyone doesn't fit into their plans at all. The SUDU idiot Kentuck gave a valid reason for the majority of  Americans a reason to oppose gun laws.

What's really ironically funny, the left portray's conservatives, and even liberal Trump to be fascists, yet they would willingly surrender their guns to that same government?

Well Kentuck, I went out and bought a brand new Rock River scary black gun today, with a 30 round mag.

I immediately lost it in a boating accident. Along with the boating accident of a few years ago when I lost my handguns, I have nothing to turn in. Sadly.
Liberals disgust me. (Now I don't have to remember to put it on each post).

Here in red state hell, there is a four MONTH waiting list to have your conceal carry permit renewed/created.  That's down from a six month wait, so we're catching up.

Come and take them at your own peril, DUmmies.

Seems like an unnecessarily long time to wait. What happens if you want to renew, do it 4 months early or are you still valid to carry while the renewal is in-process?

I didn't ask.  I'm running under the assumption that I am legal since I scheduled before my expiration.  It's either that, or be at the mercy of any random obamathug that happens along between now and October.

Our state will probably be state #7 to enact constitutional carry.  Our deadbeat governor is still twiddling his thumbs deciding if he wants to sign the bill that was sent to him with veto-proof majorities in May.

Illinois requires 16 hours of instruction.

Quote
The new regulation requires 16 hours of class room instruction and live fire for qualification. We will divide these into two 8 hours classes. The first 8 hours will be referred to as Basic Pistol Safety Class (BPSC) and the second 8 hours will be referred to as Concealed Carry Class

I've checked several places here. The 16 hours of training starts at $200 and goes up to over $300. The submittal fee for the CCW itself is $150, non-refundable if you are turned down for any reason.

As with any program where private training is required for a government license, I'm sure bribes were made to the proper politicians.

Here in the PRNY, it varies from county to county.  My county has added a concealed-carry upgrade to the pistol permits, but they're only doing 60 a month (out of 10,000 or so that they figure would want it).  There's an 8-hour course for the upgrade, which is capped by a shooting course to demonstrate that you can actually use the handgun, and hit something with it.  The general guidance is that one should do the shooting portion with the largest chambering they have, because there's DAs in our area (in other counties) that would prosecute someone for using a .45 to defend themselves, if they took their CC qualification with a .22, as an example.  I ran my .45 Glock yesterday at the distances that I'll be shooting the course at soon, and I should do fine when I take the test.

I have to wait 4-6 weeks for mine since it's being built from the ground up as a left-handed model.

This, though, is what I bought. I also got a red dot/green dot sight. Green dot is easier to see in bright sunshine and it has an intensity adjustment.

Very nice!

I've given some thought to a left handed AR, but I'm pretty set in my ways. I've been burned a time or two by brass to the face, most memorably at BCT, but I got used to it.

I looked at a handed Winchester shotgun yesterday, but like I said, I am pretty set in my ways.

The firearms of mine that have not accidentally fallen into various nearby lakes now self-identify as bottles of mayonnaise.  I even have one that self-identifies as a bottle of mustard.

To question the self-identification of my mayonnaise (and mustard) formerly known as firearms would bring into question the self-identification of many in the LGBTalphabet crowd, and is thus homophobic.  Since the bottle of mustard has a melonite finish which is black, it would also be racist.
