I'm having having surgery on my left hand. Thanks to arthritis they will remove some bones and move things like tendons around. I'll start therapy after 2 weeks.

Edit: They are doing a bone fusion too.

I may have my right hand done before the end of the year since our deductible is already met.

You know, poor dear Marta's medical insurance company sure seems to be putting a lot of money into a guy who's imminently terminal. 

<<<didn't think insurance companies did things like this, because it's the same as throwing money away.

??? Isn't he under 60? I do a lot of hand work in my career, plus computer stuff (and more besides). He seems a bit young to be having arthritis problems in his hands. Not saying he isn't, just saying it's unusual.

If I were dying, I sure as heck wouldn't subject myself to surgery unrelated to the reason I was dying.  Just saying.

Several people I work with have hand and wrist problems along with some shoulder pain from our jobs. A lot of fine detail type work can do that.

I do have to be careful of my wrists, how I support fairly heavy things and when I work out with hand weights.

So true.

Most of my hand and arm pain comes from the compressed nerves in my neck, it sucks. My hands will lock up.

The hand pain can simply be unbearable at times, I will rush to the sink and run hot water over my hands trying to get the pain to let up.

A heads up I will be gone for a while after the 4th of July

I'm having reconstruction surgery on my left hand. It will be in an immobilizing splint for a couple months. After 2 weeks I'll start therapy. And I will be on pain meds for a while, so I won't be driving.

I know I was able to post a little after all three of my shoulder surgeries. So I will just have to see how it goes.
