Those folks are equal-opportunity carnivores, they're perfectly happy to eat rabbits (Or hares, actually) too.  The Arctic hare isn't dumb enough to run around in flocks, of course...

Speaking of NatGeo, they've had a show on called 'Mygrations' about a bunch of high-strung drama queens running around pretending to be Wildebeests.  Most of them need to be slapped senseless.

I doubt this is real. More than likely it is propaganda from the Ptarmigan Relief Fund aimed at getting cash from elderly widow ptarmigans.

I'm sure next week it will be Bruce Jenner getting ptarmigan reassignment surgery.
