This is SL, Strange Luck.
He hates Christians. A lot. In every post no matter how unrelated he tosses about his personal bigotry and is surprised when people are offended.
There is a certain type of liberal poster on DU Jr that cannot deal with the fact that conservatives are allowed to speak. They come in as offensive as they can and flame out in a single day with 5 hides. they they come back three months later, and the conservative have a PM pool to see how long they last this time.
SL usually lasts longer than a day because hating Christians and Jews is pretty normal for liberals.
So this is the OP that started it all. Its about Veteran Suicides and would have been fine, but no he had to add a little hate to the end of it.

This morning I saw that a thread begun by Strange Luck had been locked. I was called to jury duty a few minutes later for one of his replies in that now defunct thread. Because the thread had been locked I voted to hide the post and asked why a jury was called for a post on a locked thread. I then found that yet another reply earned an alert and the jury voted to hide it as well. Both of these alerts were sent after the thread had been locked. Now, I am no fan of Strange Luck, he is a bitter, one trick pony who takes everything on this board way too seriously. However, it seems to me that hiding 2 replies after the OP was locked, hides that have resulted in a brief time out, is double jeopardy. I didn't even know an alert could be sent on something in a locked thread. This odd bit of mechanics will make it easy for unbalanced people with axes to grind to send those they don't like on vacations from DI. I'm sure I don't have to tell you that is no way to build a board.
I heartily dislike censorship and rarely vote to hide anything, so I am regretting the decision I made to vote for a Hide in an effort to be consistent with the locked thread.

Suppose someone posts a truly vile OP, and then doubles down with multiple offensive posts downthread.
Wouldn't they deserve multiple hides?

but Juan, if you or I can't post a reply in a locked thread why should someone else be able to send an alert in a thread that had been locked? The Thread was locked at 0700 this morning... both alerts went in well after that.

Nor should it. If a post deserves a hide, it deserves it regardless of whether or not the OP has been hidden.

He has posted ops on it's failure on DU and will be removing it entirely after the primary is over.
and one last thing: when I started this thread, Strange Luck was banned with 5 hides. One of the hides was REVERSED. He now can post again with 4 hides...just one to go.
Skinner goes easy on the Liberals when he bothers to check in on DI.
I'm not too worried. SL is bound to cross the line again.
