I'm familiar with this problem. When I was a fat bastard, I had the same problem. I lost weight instead of searching for a mattress that would be comfortable for my fat ass. I went from 250 to 180 (took a while) but the problem went away... along with all those nagging "back problems" I had and a host of other "problems".
I still consider myself a fat guy, those tenancies are still in me, but I know the consequences and avoid it. Dummies? I doubt they get it, that would require personal accountability. I mean, not to be busting on fat people, just fat people who won't own it. I used to be one.

Don't be hoping DU-folk will appreciate your attempt to be informative and helpful, you Fat-Shamer, you!

More seriously, been there, doing that, but at ~100 pounds heavier. But Libs and Progs expect the world to accept and conform to them, rather than accepting the consequences of their behaviors.

Waterbeds are so 70s.  They go together with shag carpet like VD and key parties.

IIRC, not that long after WBs became popular, apartment contracts starting specifically outlawing them.  Sine the bong/WB crowd are overwhelming renters that killed WBs.

There were two concerns, at the time. Per this webpage, a queen-size water bed contains about 196 gallons, and a king-size about 235 gallons. Whether a slow (= not immediately detected) leak or a "burst" the potential for water damage to carpeting, flooring, and sub-floor is great, and not necessarily confined to one unit. With older structures, the weight-bearing ability of the floor was a concern. At 8 pounds per gallon, the math is pretty simple, and the frame adds to the weight.

Waterbeds are still around, but to the degree they are less than easy to buy, the "blame" belongs to the marketplace. Being a long-past fad, they aren't in much demand, and store owners aren't going to waste expensive showroom and storage space with slow-moving merchandise. But if that DU-member thinks it's some sort of conspiracy, he should open up a waterbed store ... if there really is large-scale pent-up demand, he should get rich very quickly.

"Agile as a cathedral."  :lmao:  I just do not understand the DUmmies "rethug" remark.  What an idiot.  My mom used to have a waterbed years ago; I would sleep on it and wake up with such a painful back.  I think they suck.  And so much can go so wrong.

I would almost pay to see this DUmmie, who is no doubt as agile as a cathedral, get into a water bed.   :rotf:
I've visited a few, and the analogy is rather apt.

"Marketplace"?

"Demand"?

You just shut your mouth with that dirty capitalist talk! Free waterbeds are a universal human right!

No, but there is magic hour. Magic hour is when a couple get on the bed and repeatedly make something disappear for around an hour.  :whistling:
