We took a short journey to Cambridge City, Indiana to go to one of my wife's favorite diners today: Lumpy's. Lunch for two came to $11.88 plus tip. My wife claims they have the best pork tenderloin sandwiches in the area.

BTW, imgur.com is the funk. I just started using that site for photo hosting after getting fed up with photobucket. Somebody suggested it to me here a while ago. I wish I would have made the switch sooner. I'll probably post a lot more pictures now.

the last picture is the keeper.

What do you suppose the DUmmy Tobin tipped on an $11.88 tab?  I would guess $1.  Plus a note encouraging the server to lobby for $15 an hour.

I've always considered 15% as just a guideline.  I think I tip closer to the 20-25% range.

My guess would be no tip but a heart warming story about dementia and his last meal. So she has that going for her.  :-)

I've been thru rural Indiana in a previous job and ya know... those little hole in the wall diners out there have the best food in my opinion. Good portions too. Decent price. Great service.  I suspect they served generous portions and that is why Tubbs posted it.   He likes to eat.  Nothing wrong with that.  Gave the local owner some free advertising.

I ain't gonna bust his chops over this one.

I once ate at a roadhouse near Lake Arkabutla, MS that had a roll-up garage door in the front. Maybe that roadhouse in Indiana has the same.

Tobin reminds me of an old Far Side cartoon that I can't find anywhere. 

The caption was that the bellhop didn't last past his first day on his new job.  The cartoon was of an enormous hogbeast bellhop stuffed into an elevator all by himself, while telling a person waiting outside "Sorry sir, full up." 

That's Tobin squeezing into a diner in a nutshell.
