Well that was one long day (San Diego)

we are quite sunburned, dehycrated, tired, sore feet... even my toes hurt. But that is what you get when you get to play around with cameras and cops and riot gear. Did I mention taking photos while wearing a Kevlar helmet is not easy? Ok, anyway, media wise not only were all the local stations and CNN, but also CBC and my friends at the BBC.

We also had our pals at the LA Time, and the UT.

So who came?

Well Francine Busby, Chair person of the local democratic party.

Mickey Kasparian, Central Labor Council head, my friends from the Jaitnor's union, (I told people working stiffs would make a strong presence), Enrique Morales, head of the Border Angels. Shane Harris, local president of the National Action Network, Martin Eder of Activist San Diego. Annie Marie, representing our Muslim (and latino) community. Union del Barrio, my local, and I mean this, very local activists from Logan Heights.

We also had Todd Gloria, council member, who came becuase he is an American, not as a democrat, or council member...

Oh and I wold be remiss. San Diego PD did deploy their riot squad. Care to guess the last time that happened? The republcians convention last century. My friends from La Mesa PD, Harbor, the San Diego Sherifs, they showed up en force, with all kinds of toys for a riot. The San Diego Fire Department was there because yes, you can have injuries.

We had some fights, Some Trump supporters made their way around the physical barriers that the cops put in place, but nothing really extraordinary and about half a dozen arrests we saw. Our anarchists did show up as well. Most of the trouble started AFTER Trump left the building.

Oh and yes, we got to wear our nice Kevlar helmets, those suckers are heavy, but never did we see any deployment of chemical anything, so the gas masks staid put in their bags. For that I am glad I over packed and did not need it.

I will have a far more complete report, if not tonight, by tomorrow (( am wiped) and I still need to go though a good 1500 photos.

But, "Kevlar Helmet"?

The riot squad wasn't there to protect the crowd from Republicans.  They were there to protect Republicans against liberals.

I'm a little disappointed, I thought there would be a little more substance, drama. Perhaps having things thrown at her by Trump supporters, maybe had to duck sniper fire or something.

33. I got it from good solid sources that the people starting the shit

were not the protesters, but Trump folks.

That is the story that I will report on

MY facebook message feed is full of those first hand witness reports. And we know from other agency's reporting, that the Trump folks made their way there around the police cordon. Here is the other pattern you should think about... as usual, AFTER Trump got done.

1 arrest (we witnessed that), when he was still in there, and 34 after. Can you do math? I can. Yes, the parallels to Nazi germany are getting way, way, way too uncomfortable.

37. No it is not condescending... most folks are unaware they are being manipulated

The flags are there, for the record, yesterday one group marched with all of the flags of Latin America... we will run that as well, since that group does that all the time) They are from Logan Heights, and this is from how far and wide people have come to the US.

When did CNN tell you that the fights were started by Trump Supporters? I have it on. One analysts tried, but they have not from the field reported on that ONCE.

Media studies is all about narratives. If they tell you why those flags are there, you might change your view. So I will tell you the context of those flags. Just like Irish and Italian Americans fly those flags at demonstrations and marches, so do Mexican Americans, many of whom are third and fourth and fifth generations, going back to 1848. You do know what happened then right? Many of these folks, like me incidentally, have families straddling the border.

This is a sign of cultural pride, not national pride. La Raza, yes they were there, and MECHA, yes they were there, and the brown berets, yes they were there, are part of that subculture that is part of the fabric of particularly the southwest. It is not that different, really, from the pride African Americans have for their own culture. This is one thing PoC do. And the fact that I have to explain this to you implies to me just how lousy of a job CNN is doing in reporting this. Mind you, I have my suspicions they really don't care about reporting this accurately. or perhaps... they don't want you.

But as I said, did they show you, and I have looked for it, the thread on me flag where the fight started? Trust me, they were not submarine service vets who have one that flew on a sub after 911... for the record we have one of those since my husband retired from the sub service. So we have one of the few that flew on the USS Key West. Would I fly it? No, the context of that flag as a first Navy ensign is gone. But it is a historic artifact.

Being dehycrated is really bad.

Dehycrated.

Nadin is very short. Nadin is exactly the correct height; however, the rest of the world is too tall. In order to use the good rig to get all of those 1500 excellent Kodak moments she had to crawl up an a high crate to counteract the incorrect tallness of the rest of the world. Some Trump supporters, fearful that  the superior reporting and photography of the nads would show them in a poor light, removed nadin from the high crate. She was dehycrated.

Short answer. Yes. However, Anglo-Americans have to work for a living, then go home, take care of the kids, have quality family time, then go to bed.

They don't have time to protest.

I'm waiting for the time Trump supporters have had enough and fully fight back against the provocation. Yes, I know the media will paint the Trump people as the instigators, but to watch some of these protesters get their asses whipped would be worth pay-per-view.
Liberals disgust me. (Now I don't have to remember to put it on each post).

Because only the left goes searching for that which is not there in a desperate attempt to be offended about something.

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams

Okay, her report is up and in all of these pictures she and others have posted about this protest, I've yet to see either nads or kpete in any of them but does anybody here know what she is talking about here? Another dummy suggest that the protesters are looking like the aggressors and should change the tactics, then nad says:

A bad idea. We will have a report with photos...currently dealing with a personal sort of crisis involving meds

But yes, that is essentially a national trend. These issues start in earnest after he is done.
