46,000 Killed by Heroin Overdose is a LIE


To know how a person died, you have to do a autopsy, to get a autopsy done costs over $500.00. You need a crime or you need a act, witness of a crime.

A person whom died of natural causes has a hard time getting a autopsy. Opioid deaths statistics are guess work not backed up with any qualified US study. Something else is at work, usually having to do with Money. Not to say Doctors gave away Oxy this or that drugs for years now they have a problem especially after thousands wounded in wars.

Corporate health care givers have expensive clinics all over the country. It's just like imagrants, it was fine to bring in millions to build a housing bubble, then say we have a problem after they caused the problem and voting, we have a unknown problem with voters to make laws to slow down voting, this is a f"ed up.........

Autopsies are done many times when an apparent COD is missing in an otherwise healthy individual.

Even a novice looking at a body laying in a trash-strewn apartment with hypodermic needles scattered all around, needle marks and scars on the body, and no contradicting evidence of some sort of foul play, could figure out what killed a primitive.

If heroin were available recreationally with a doctor's script, drug users would be under a doctors care and could be given warnings about what not to do. The quality and dose would also be infinitely more consistent which causes a lot of deaths.

Whenever you make a vice illegal you simply drive it underground and lose any capability of regulating it. Consumption rates stay pretty much the same.

Al Qaeda/the Taliban suppressed poppy growth rather stringently, but farmers saved bags of seed beneath their floorboards. As soon as Idiot Son and Uncle Dick destroyed that system of government and turned their backs, subsistence farmers hauled out the means for a cash crop and planted it.

Within a year or so, addicts were congregating along the borders outside Afghanistan. Within another year or so, cheap heroin came flooding into the West.

You want to blame someone? The path to addiction in the US is complicated, thanks to legal prescription drugs that weren't supposed to be addictive. We need to own that crap. But the flood of cheap heroin can be laid directly at the feet of Dubya and Dick.

This is part of the damage they did in 8 years. To imagine one Democrat could clean it up in his term in office with a Congress vowed to obstruct him at every turn is just fantasy.

I voted for Obama knowing he was our best chance to at least begin to repair the country, not because I believed he was Christ Almighty or Gandalf with a magic staff. I will continue to vote for the Democrat every time.

I will never forgive Bush/Cheney. I will never forget.

Heroin addicts are dead people walking. The majority of them never kick the addiction for very long.  As far as I am concerned the faster they OD themselves off this Earth the better off everyone.... their family, society, etc is.

Here in WV the state government is talking treatment, diversion programs, etc.  As far as I am concerned this is good taxpayer money thrown down a rat hole.  Let the addicts die and the sooner the better.  Anyone stupid enough to stick a needle in their arm is addicted to drugs in general and will never get off.  Heroin is just the last stop.

This DUmmie here holds a very special kind of stupid, even by other primitive's standards.  Last time I checked it was pretty common knowledge that heroin is bad for you and pretty much guarantees a visit from the grim reaper.

My wife is a case manager and charge nurse in one of the busiest ERs in town. They are getting at least one heroin OD a day and most of them die or are dead when they get to the hospital. She believes that extrapolated out what we see here on a nationwide scale 46,000 is probably a bit on the low side.

There was an article in NR that basically said the same thing.  At the time that prescriptions became so restricted, heroin prices plummeted.  It's rampant here.  I agree with Perky, the gov't programs, outreaches, etc.. are a waste of money.  The success rate of treatment is so low.  Look at Scott Weiland, in and out of rehab for decades, it never took.

I think both of you are correct.  Instead of identifying these people and helping them kick the pills, they forced them into heroin. Once on that stuff, it is just a matter of time.  I was watching some show called Drugs Inc.  They had a bunch of heroin addicts on and profiled them.   If I remember correctly, half of them ended up dead in the 6 months they were profiling them.

Damned shame is what it is. I really do not have any sympathy though. These pill addicts "could" have gone to a doctor and said they were addicted to pills and needed help. Instead they chose to stick themselves with a needle loaded with heroin laced with God knows what.  A game of russian roulette played with a needle instead of a revolver.  Eventually the odds are gonna get you.

Really?  I did not know that... or if I did I forgot.  Now that I think about it... I've think I have read or seen on tv where you can smoke opium.  Over somewhere  in asia they actually have bars (for want of a better word) to do it, so it stands to reason you can do the same with heroin. 

I confess I know very little about street drugs and the method of ingesting them.  Have no desire to learn first hand either.

Re opium dens - neither created in (opium poppies are native to Asia) nor peculiar to California. The Brits fought two wars to beable to keep importing opium into China. And of course there's the more or less autobiographical book, Confessions of an English Opium Eater.

There's plenteous valid reasons for sneering at California and Lib/Prog Californians without making stuff up.
