Oh my.

It's about time the deaf and hard-of-hearing forum on Skins' island had some action in it; it usually makes a morgue at midnight look a carnival.  And to think that before it existed, we had all of these deaf and hard-of-hearing primitives begging and pleading and nagging and promising Skins, "we need a forum for this, and yes, we promise, we'll use it if you set one up....."

So Skins set it up, and.....

Seeking loud, pulsating, mid-tone alarm clock

I'm not ready for a shake one because cats are constantly on and off the bed and I wouldn't notice it, and the light ones don't do much for me either.

I find mixed review of different ones online so was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. Thank you.

1. I used to use alarm clocks as backup to phone, but I've grown to trust my phone.

Surely, there is some app which will work.

Good luck.

BTW: Started watching this group as hearing is becoming a concern.

4. As we age, more of us are having hearing issues.

And senility issues, too.

Example: Judy grasswire.

3. We've half shades, room is sort of light already. There are shakers and ones that flash lights, but

since I can sort of hear, prefer something with a loud tone.

Stupid primitives.

Now, I've written about this before, but it's been several years, and while some may have forgotten, others might not have ever seen it, so there goes; franksolich, who couldn't hear an alarm clock even if it were powered by an atomic bomb, uses the system for getting up on time that all my life's been pretty much foolproof and infallible.

However, it will not work on people who've abused their bodies through decadent living and promiscuous use of pharmaceuticals; it'll work only on people who've never misused and abused their delicate urinary system.

So I suppose it's no remedy for primitives, but anyway.....

Water, orange juice, and milk have different diuretic properties, and as a little lad I discerned that liquids go through the system at different rates.  Water's the slowest, milk's the fastest.

And it depends upon quantity of intake too, when one's ready to piss it out.

For years, for decades, I've used this as my "alarm clock," having established through time and observation what liquid in what amount is best for a desired time of sleep.  One drinks down--or even just sips--the liquid and the quantity appropriate for x amount of hours of sleep, and nods off, confident that when it's time to get up, the bladder will rouse one.

<<<never been late in getting up.

But as I've already said, alas for the primitives, because they've already ****ed up their bodies though decadent living and overuse of pharmaceuticals, and their kidneys and bladders can no longer be trusted.

For the (D)Ummies, I'd recommend an alarm clock that does something which makes physical contact connected to a timer, as an alarm.

First I suggest something that uses a hammer or a bowling ball. If that doesn't work, I'd suggest moving to sharp instruments, then, if necessary, flammables.

Glad to be of service.

I picture something using 440 volt 3-phase current and electrodes... :naughty:

Liberal thinking is a two-legged stool and magical thinking is one of the legs, the other is a combination of self-loating and misanthropy.  To understand it, you would have to be able to sit on that stool while juggling two elephants, an anvil and a fragmentation grenade, sans pin.
