Rep. Elijah E. Cummings (D-Md.) endorsed Hillary Clinton on Sunday, after months of staying neutral in the presidential contest because of his post as the ranking Democrat on the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

“Families in Baltimore who are hurting right now need more than the promise of a political revolution,” Cummings wrote in an op-ed submitted to The Washington Post.

He added that Clinton “not only understands the challenges facing Baltimore and other cities, she’s laid out a clear and detailed agenda that meets those challenges head-on.”

A Washington Post-University of Maryland poll released last week showed Clinton with a clear lead over Sen. Bernie Sanders (Vt.) in Maryland’s Democratic primary, but her advantage has narrowed over the past few months. She leads Sanders 55 percent to 40 percent among likely Democratic voters in the state; a Baltimore Sun poll last month showed her pulling ahead by roughly 30 percentage points.

If Cummings was neutral for so long why did he come out now to support Hillary? To get on the bandwagon? I don't think so. My guess is that the numbers are really tightening and the Clinton campaign "encouraged" him to endorse to help stop the bleeding. This is great news for Sanders supporters.

Elijah Cummings is a democrat. That means he waited until he extorted a check from the Clinton Foundation...and then he had to wait 10 days for it to clear.

The blue northwestern primitive is what I call a full-time professional gay; everything in his life centers around that he's, well, different, and he looks at it as a badge of honor, something to be proud of.

There's actually some normal gays on Skins's island, such as Wills, the William769 primitive, who dresses and acts normal when out in public (I have no idea how he is in private, though, but am not particularly curious about it).

This is only speculation, but I suspect that WillyT dresses and acts somewhat flamboyantly gay-ish, which might account for his being only a file clerk in a state governmental office even though he's 61 years old, and not, as a gay on Skins's island once put it, "sexually valuable."

That freaked me out the first time I read that, "sexually valuable."

He's probably been getting monthly checks for a year or two.

Cummings hasn't been "neutral", he's just stated aloud what has been clear and obvious for months.
