Rove: Obama's the Guy at the Country Club Holding a Martini Making Snide Comment

 New reports that at a breakfast with Republican insiders at the Capitol Hill Club this morning, former White House senior aide Karl Rove referred to Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, as "coolly arrogant." "Even if you never met him, you know this guy," Rove said, per Christianne Klein. "He's the guy at the country club with the beautiful date, holding a martini and a cigarette that stands against the wall and makes snide comments about everyone who passes by."

Rove said Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., "needs to come right at him." He referred to the latest Newsweek poll showing Obama with a 15-point lead over McCain as nonsense, though he used a more scatological synonym. Rove said he was heading over to the White House for lunch and a chat with the President, Klein reports.



Interesting that Mr. Rove would use a country club metaphor to describe the first major party African-American presidential candidate, whom I'm sure wouldn't be admitted into many country clubs that members of the Capitol Hill Club frequent.

Interesting that Mr. Rove would use a country club metaphor to describe the first major party African-American presidential candidate, whom I'm sure wouldn't be admitted into many country clubs that members of the Capitol Hill Club frequent.

Interesting in what way?  That the metaphor fits the half-white guy to a T? 

Obama Hussein reminds me of a bitchy girl running for Homecoming Queen.  I'm sure most homecoming committees would not allow O. Hussein to be in that club either, but it doesn't diminish the metaphor.

in what parts of the country are blacks still second class citizens? I need this to be pointed out to me, cause, being 44 years old, i dont see the racism that they so frequently accuse me of.

i'm from the South, living in the norwest... where is it that black men cannot go into country clubs?

i was just at Newcastle Golf Club a few weeks back when Steve Pool had his Golf A Thon going.. Steve Pool is a local black weatherman that is low profile enough that I dont know anything else about him. But apprently he golfs at some nice clubs.

does Barack not belong to any sort of social club? does he golf?

hey, how come they arent trotting him out in all sorts of get ups so we can see how 'manly' he is? the layup shot on the basketball court was a bit cliche and trite, but oh well, this is only the job of the leader of the free world.
