Chichiri (3,850 posts) Thu Mar 17, 2016, 07:44 PMSanders will not request a recount in Missouri. http://www.politico.com/story/2016/03/politico-breaking-news-hillary-clinton-wins-missouri-primary-220949 Seems to me that if he was running for President, rather than simply making a statement, he'd be fighting like hell for every single delegate . . .

Maybe they don't want to pay for a recount if there is such a slim hope of a victory when no matter how you slice it, he was defeated on that day. It wouldn't make any real difference to his delegate count, and all it would do is remind people that he was beaten badly on Tuesday. He's smarter to just leave it be--it's a no win for him. If he'd WON four out of five, and was looking to say "BOOYA!!!" he might be motivated to do it, but all muddling around in MO does is remind everyone of the brutal drubbing he took. Also, if it costs money, they probably need the money for other things.

She won the popular vote but because certain districts where he won big he wound up with an extra delegate. No need for a recount when you are ahead in that state. And he is. Basically a virtual tie like Iowa.
