Police consider charging Trump with inciting a riot over violence at North Carolina rally

Source: Raw Story, Fayetteville Observer, NBC

Typical right-wing authoritarian behavior (both followers and leaders) is to compartmentalize thinking and ignore evidence that conflicts with positions that they have an emotional stake in.

Hair DrumpFührer knows very little about most things, including the consequences of his words and actions, foreign policy, domestic economy, running a government and how it differs from running a business.

But he is an entertainer and knows how to make a lot of empty statements with highly loaded emotional content to fire up his RWA followers.

5. I was wondering if/when Hate Crimes would be added to some charges

In particular, I was thinking about the young girls shoved and tossed through the crowd of extremists, the sucker puncher, and I believe there was another very direct incident, too. I don't know the full details of the STL attack, but that one was pretty terrible looking, too.

7. Trump's campaign manager is facing felony assault charges

Corey Lewandowski will likely be charged with felony assault, he grabbed reporter Michelle Fields and threw her to the ground. There were several witnesses and photographs of her badly bruised arm were posted on news sites.
Trump will be charged, Obama has stated trump will not be the next president and I believe he will do everything possible in his power to derail trump up to and including having the DOJ charge him with a felony.

No, he isn't.

13. I hope they do it. There seems to be grounds for it

I'm sick of this loud-mouthed lout telling his troglodyte followers to beat up on people. It's sickening and he needs to be called on it and pay the consequences - not monetarily either.

You're right.  We've seen that, first hand, over the last seven years.

Explain this to me DUmmie. Why can the crowd be worked into a frenzy at a rally, AT WHICH NO PROTESTERS ARE PRESENT, and there is NO violence.

Why is it when protesters ARE present, i.e. Chicago, there is violence. The dude that got clocked by the old guy wasn't there to protest, he was there to INCITE, and incite he did.

I, as a white guy, and believe me DUmmie, I do not suffer from "white privilege", would not go to a party with a large amount of young blacks, and start telling black jokes. It wouldn't be good for my health, and deservedly so.

You go into the camp of your sworn enemy, and taunt and incite, expect what you get.

Liberals.
Disgust.
Me.
Liberals disgust me. (Now I don't have to remember to put it on each post).

Oh, hey... there is this:

A lot of Democrats in NC. Probably a Hillary fan.

Update: Sheriff Earl R. Butler of Cumberland County, NC., considering charging Trump, is a registered Democrat and his offices are at 131 Dick Street in Fayetteville, NC. He has a facebook page if anyone cares to comment.

Raw Story?  I guess he was told to get his affairs in order and he is going to be arrested in 24 business hours.

The dump is becoming unhinged.  More so than usual for an election year.   :cheersmate:

It's a legitimate story this time. Like always, the DUmmies prefer a partisan source. It was broke by WRAL TV.

Nothing was ever going to come of this and WRAL knew it.  Did not read the story... I can imagine it though.  Prosecutor probably said they would investigate, etc, and the media ran with it.   If law enforcement had something on trump, in a very public place, he would be charged.

I did look up WRAL story:

An excerpt:
Quote
nvestigators considered filing a charge of inciting a riot against Trump or his campaign.

North Carolina law defines a riot as "a public disturbance involving an assemblage of three or more persons which by disorderly and violent conduct, or the imminent threat of disorderly and violent conduct, results in injury or damage to persons or property or creates a clear and present danger of injury or damage to persons or property." Inciting a riot is a misdemeanor unless the disturbance causes serious injury or more than $1,500 in property damage, when it becomes a felony.

By Monday night, investigators determined that "the evidence does not meet the requisites of the law as established under the relevant North Carolina statute and case law to support a conviction of the crime of inciting a riot," sheriff's office spokesman Sean Swain said in a statement.

I could see Trump's attorney for that trial:

Atty: Roll the tape
"Burn this bitch down!!!!"
Atty: Nobody arrested and convicted that fool in Ferguson, so why should you, the jury, do the same?   Nothing burned, no riots happened, nothing. One person sucker punched another person. Happens all the time on police calls when tempers are flaring.

Raw Story!  :rotf: Let me know when Truth Out has the indictments handed down.

The funniest thing is MoveOn.org and Bernie Sanders are the ones who incited a riot.  And the idiots admit it!

Heard a bit ago, no charges.

Predictably, the DU-folks' celebration of Trumpmas was predictably premature. From the updated version of the WRAL story linked in the DU OP:

Quote
Trump won't face criminal charge
...
Last week, Trump visited Concord and Fayetteville in rallies that attracted thousands of attendees. During the rally in Fayetteville, a protester was assaulted as he was escorted from Crown Coliseum by deputies. A Linden man was later charged in the incident, and Cumberland County Sheriff's Office investigators said Monday that they decided against filing a charge of inciting a riot against Trump after reviewing video evidence in the case.

 :rotf: Merry Un-Trumpmas, DU! :rotf:

If the police feel there's probable cause to investigate, let that run its course.
I heavily dislike Trump. He's a mudslinging windbag with no sense of decorum, and he's turned this election cycle into a circus.
That being said, the only way there could be cause to charge him with incitement would be if he directly, deliberated told his followers to engage in violence and rioting, and I don't believe he has done that. Out of his quotes that have been widely circulated, the closest he's come to incitement was saying that the protestors who've been harrassing him and his supporters should be arrested.
