So glad that I gave up eating meat. So glad that I can look in any animal's eye and say...

Now, I look at you with respect. You are my sister. You are my brother.

A Vegan, a Firefighter, and a Lawyer enter a bar. How can you tell? Don't worry- they'll tell you in the first five minutes.

7. This post will go down pretty much that I expect. A celebration of cruelty.

Yeah. I can totally understand how you would want to stand in blood 8 hours a day and slice a pig's throat and slice a pig's throat and slice a pig's throat, and slice a pig's and slice a pig's throat

A celebration of taste on the backs of sentient social and loving beings whose teeth are pulled out with pliers, whose tails and penis are sliced off…

All semblance of their community destroyed. Piglets separated from their mothers. Kicked, beaten and abused.

Yeah i can understand how you would be for torture for your bacon.

25. Yes. I grew up on a farm and you damn well know factory farms have ZERO to do with your reality. But go on with your own bad way.

49. But your OP is not about factory farms. Not at all.

You switched materials when confronted with feeding the poor via hunting. I eat meat that is all local, humanely raised (have a fit over that word, feel free) and fully organic, raised by people whose names I know. Your OP attacks the hunter, me, the farmers, and says we eat our siblings. Your OP is not about industrial farming methods at all, it is about how great you are compared to others.

Have you spent much time on the subject of industrial farming of plant foods? Because that factory thing, it is not magically wonderful because it raises veg.

To make a field of veg, you start with a natural habitat and you displace or kill all the animals and insects that live there, their home is your plot of food. Cruelty free food! Next comes water. And labor. Who does the labor and how are they treated, are they compensated well, do they live in shacks, are they unionized, are their kids living as well as your kids? It's allegedly ethically sound food, this is vegetables and thus free of all cruelty.

So once we kill the pests and plow the rest under with machines and change the land, divert masses of water and abuse a few hundred workers we hand you a bowl of ultra righteous cruelty free food!!!

That's as ridiculous as it gets. Honestly, these dolts don't think.

What if someone's moral code said that it's OK to steal from those who you view as having too much (oh, you're a liberal, you already DO believe that)? But see lib, I know you, and you would tell them that stealing from someone is harming others (ok, just play along with me here, liberal). Then they tell you that part of their moral code doesn't include that particular belief, so it's OK. So, do you still want them to live by their moral code?

Geez, what a smug, pretentious, self- righteous a-hole, making an entire thread dedicated to singing her own praises and portraying those who disagree with her and rightfully laugh at her as pure evil (Yet she probably believes that Christians who don't completely hide their faith are bigoted monsters forcing their beliefs on others).
Speaking of which, she weeps over animals killed/ eaten for meat, yet I bet you anything she fully supports abortion.
I imagine her wearing hemp clothing and Birkenstocks, and having a constant odor of incense, stale marijuana smoke, and simple BO.

"A celebration of taste on the backs of sentient social and loving beings..."
Social and loving beings?
She must have seen way too many animated movies featuring anthropomorphic talking animals with celebrity voices. She probably views Disney's current film 'Zootopia' as a documentary.
I'll be going to a church fish fry for dinner tonight, and just imagining her being there and freaking out over all the "Murdered sea kittens" (I believe that's the term freaks like her use for fish).

1. If they have the habit of biting people, yes, though I'd have the proper instruments used by a vet with the proper skills. Never had to, though, as we always treated and trained our pets properly.

2. If I owned a dog whose natural tail-wagging reflex would result in breakages of bones in their tail - e.g. a rottweiler - yes, I'd have their tails docked (by a vet with the proper skills and proper instruments).

3. Is LA so utterly ignorant - as "2." suggests (s)he may be - as not to know that neutering male dogs, cats, cattle, horses, etc. does not involve removing their penis?

Some really ardent vegans do try to give the dogs or cats they are care-taking ("own" means exploiting) vegan diets. Haven't heard of any vegans involuntarily (or voluntarily) becoming dog or cat food yet. Now, if an ardent vegan joined the the VHEM people, that might happen, maybe even voluntarily.

Honestly,I couldn`t care less if someone is a vegetarian or vegan but why do they have to be do damned smug and obnoxious about it to everyone?

The smug and obnoxiousness aren't the worst of vegans. The worst of them are the ones who want to impose their views on normal people - by releasing minks from mink farms (resulting in the minks becoming predator food), burn down veterinary medicine labs at universities, and try to shut down livestock/poultry farms (and yes, vegans and "animal rights" have done each of those things!).

Back last century I was a regular on a homeschooling discussion forum that was part of a larger vegan forum/site. Most of those posting on the homeschooling discussion forum were normal people, but the hosts and a few of their fans on the forum were nutso. And the unpublished list of things that could not be mentioned was crazy (among the things-that-must-not-be-mentioned were meat, leather, milk/butter/cheese/eggs, honey, restaurants known for having meat on their menus, agricultural charities such as Heifer International ...). Seriously! A homeschooling Mom would get dumped on by the Mods if she dared mentioned having eaten at M or BK after a field trip or park day. And if that homeschooling Mom was new to the forum? Too damn bad! I just took a look at the place. It used to be the highest post volume homeschool discussion site on the 'net. The (formerly) 4 busiest sub-forums have all of 5 posts in 2016, 4 of them spam posts. Between the nastiness of the place, an arbitrary Mod or two, and their home-brew forum SW having been Hacked to Valhalla a couple of times it's a pathetic ghost-town. By way of contrast, what used to be the second busiest homeschooling discussion form, HomeschoolChristian.com has 17 posts in 2016 in just their "Support & Advice" sub-forum (and despite not having posted there in years, I was able to login - the forum hasn't been Hacked to Valhalla). Sorry for the long-winded digression, but my point is that vegans' nastinesses have real-world, unpleasant, consequences.

Yeah, ecoterrorists like them (Usually found in groups like Earth First, and its spinoff groups ALF and ELF) are truly repulsive, and hypocritical, and often just plain stupid.
Take, for instance, releasing minks into the wild. The areas of woodland where they release them are usually areas where minks are not native to. As anyone with even the slightest knowledge of environmental biology can tell you, abruptly releasing large numbers of a non- native species into an ecosystem that they aren't made for can completely destroy the delicate balance and stability of that ecosystem (i.e. animal populations). They are in fact HARMING the environment through their actions!
