MSNBC has parted ways with host Melissa Harris-Perry after she complained about preemptions of her weekend program and implied that there was a racial aspect to the cable-news network’s treatment, insiders at MSNBC said.

Harris-Perry refused to appear on her program Saturday morning, telling her co-workers in an email that she felt “worthless” to the NBC-owned network. “I will not be used as a tool for their purposes,” wrote Harris-Perry, who is African American. “I am not a token, mammy or little brown bobble head. I am not owned by [NBC executives] or MSNBC. I love our show. I want it back.”

The rebuke, which became public when it was obtained by the New York Times, has triggered discussions involving the network, Harris-Perry and her representatives about the terms of her departure, said people at MSNBC, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because Harris-Perry’s departure has not been formally announced.

I'm not to familiar with her, but everything I know is she is a primadonna who believes the world revolves around her...then she got caught up in the BlackLiesMatter movement and became impossible to work with.

When even the most liberal network on TV won't put up with your sh!t, you just know its bad.

Playing the race card on one's fellow Progs usually isn't received very well. MesSNBC seems about to give her a reminder of that fact.

Too often Affirmative Action places less than apt people in positions way over their heads. Such beneficiaries often have no clue of lacking the necessary skills/knowledge and develop the attitude that the world must cater to them. Whatever her skills, M--H-P certainly has that attitude, thinking her race-card playing shtick is more important to MesSNBC viewers - both of them - than news of the R and D Presidential campaign.

Maybe BET should create a Black News Channel for her.

Here is a link to M--H-P's letter to her staff about not doing her most recent scheduled show.

I'm sure the news that they might soon be unemployed was very welcome to them.

I think MSNBC pre-empted her show because they didn't think she was ready to go since she wasn't wearing tampons on her ears. It was an honest mistake.

I thought MSNBC was becoming the black news channel. Is Al still on there ? (I erased MSNBC channel from my TV  :-))
