Haven't heard much follow-up on this story, on this side of the country. Knowing that means the national-level MSM have found nothing to further their standard narratives and agendas, I nosed around a bit just now:
Wichita hospitals release conditions of Hesston shooting victimsThere are yet 3 victims whose conditions are very serious.
After Hesston shooting, some answersThe now-deceased murderer was "triggered" by receiving a protective order on the behalf of his live-in GF ... and responded by shooting random people with whom he worked, people with no part in the dispute with his GF. His
Baby Mama (different from his current GF) had at some earlier time "transferred" to the murderer the guns he used; she probably also acted as a "straw buyer" for him. With the murderer being killed and
Baby Mama (probably) being prison bound, their 2YO and a 4YO children will be left without parents, which does not augur good for their future lives. Because the murderer was shooting people at random opportunity, the police chief, who took him on without waiting for back-up, may have saved any number of lives.
Authorities still piecing together facts in Hesston shooting at Excel plantThe FBI, ATF, and KBI have mostly wound up their involvement. I guess with the one police officer who was involved in the shooting being the hero - by stopping the shooting - there's no basis or motive for making a Federal case of it. No doubt this will show up in stats as a
white police officer killing a black male, it just has to be cleansed of the details. KBI seems incurious about
Baby Mama "transferring" and possibly straw-purchasing the guns used by the murderer.
As for the national MSM:
* The murderer was black;
* The white police officer who shot the black male was a hero;
* A mass shooting was stopped by the use of a gun;
* The murderer obtained his guns in violation of existing gun laws - i.e. wasn't stopped by those existing laws.
No narrative or agenda served, making this shooting a "local story".
