Well, it's all very unfortunate.
This is what happens with Republicans, when we become ideological purists and find things wrong with just about any candidate.
<<<considers self "conservative," but am always willing to support a "moderate" or "liberal" Republican if it's in some way helpful to the conservative cause.
This is why I'm avoiding all this pre-convention infighting, in which we got all these conservatives tearing apart each and every possible Republican candidate. All I'm really concerned about is having a candidate who'll defeat the Democrat in November, nothing more than that.
Even if it has to be a "liberal" Republican, that's okay, because the Republican party and its voters are by nature conservative, and so even with "liberal" George Pataki at the helm, Republicans aren't going to move themselves "left" for him. He'd have to adjust, not they.
Jeb Bush had his flaws, but he has his good points too, and it's been sickening, watching my fellow Republicans and conservatives rip him apart, when it'd be better if we spent our energies ripping Democrats, and not fellow conservatives and Republicans, apart.
The sure way to lose in November is by conservatives and Republicans to continue bashing each other, rather than the opposition. It's stupid, and conservatives and Republicans are supposed to be smarter, more savvy, than that.
