Alright, time for me to roll up my sleeves and tackle this latest explosion of idiocy from the DUngheap:
WARNING! LONG POST AHEAD! A LOT OF BS TO SORT THROUGH!
". If you can’t win, and if you don’t have any answers, make stuff up. If the fantasy is marketed well enough, people will believe it."
The Left, especially the DUmmies, follow that strategy to a T. For instance, Sarah Palin never actually said "I can see Russia from my house," it was actually said by Tina Fey while imitating Palin in a 'Saturday Night Live' sketch (What Palin actually said was, in a quasi- joking tone, that there are certain sections of Alaska from which you can indeed see Russia, which is true). Still, the DUmmies and other leftists made up that Palin herself was the one who said it, marketed it, and people believed it. Then, of course, when they made up the "Bristol Palin= Trig's real mother" lie, with some DUmmies claiming they should continue parroting this lie even if it was false (Which, of course, it was) in order to hurt McCain's chances, rationalizing it by claiming that getting the right candidate in office made it okay to spread a reputation- destroying lie. Then, of course, there's all the conspiracy theories and lies they make up about Republicans.
"What matters is that the conservative entertainment complex, as well as the broader Republican Party, is suddenly realizing that elections matter."
Conservative entertainment complex? LOL!
Liberals pretty much own the entertainment industry, and use it to parrot their propaganda through movies and television every chance they can get. Just look at Seth MacFarlane. The guy's created not one, not even two, but three idiotic shows (All of which, in spite of being technically "Comedic," are about as funny as pancreatic cancer) all about parroting left- wing propaganda and spreading blind hatred of anyone who disagrees with the far Left on any issue.
"Along those lines, Republicans believe the Bible forbids same-sex marriage even though same-sex marriage didn’t exist in biblical times."
Indeed it didn't (Unless you count all the many verses pointing out that marriage is between a man and a wife), but the Bible does openly forbid homosexual practice, and same- sex marriage by its very definition is all about homosexual practice. Oh, and don't forget that the government regularly seeks to force Christian business owners to go against their religious beliefs and the basic dictates of their consciences by trying to make it illegal for them to refuse service to gay weddings and similar things.
"Similarly, they believe in all of the magical storybook aspects of the Bible, including a virgin birth, the parting of the Red Sea and the notion that a man was crucified and rose from the dead three days later."
Ah, and let the hate- mongering begin! I knew it would come sooner or later, especially in a thread when DU hypocrites openly accuse conservatives of being bigoted. They are matters of personal religious faith, which we have the right to believe in and practice under the First Amendment of the Constitution (Though of course the DUmmies and other uber- leftists would change all that, if they felt they could get away with it). btw, as for Christ's death and resurrection, first, He was more than a man, contrary to what most of the Left believes; He was God incarnate. Second, keep in mind that the Apostles saw Him raised, had absolutely nothing to gain and potentially a LOT to lose in that time and place for testifying that He was risen, all were persecuted, imprisoned, and tortured for it, and all but John son of Zebedee were executed, often brutally (i.e. several of them were crucified, and Peter specifically requested to be crucified upside- down, an even more agonizing way to go), for testifying that Jesus was the Son of God who rose from the dead. Do you really think all of them would have gone through all of that, freaking DIED, for something that this DUmmy believes they would have known was a lie?
I can't even imagine the tantrums this DUmmy (And probably a lot of the other Christophobes on the DUmp, too) will go through over the movie 'Risen.'
" But racism doesn’t exist anymore, they say."
None of us have ever said that. What we have said is basically refuting the Left's wild claims that race relations all over America today are as bad now as they were in Mississippi circa the 1940s and 50s if not worse, which is simply not so. Racial problems do still exist, largely perpetuated by the very same self- righteous, ultra- liberal grievance- mongers who claim to be against racism, such as Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, Louis Farrakhan, and indeed President Obama. All we have to do is listen to the garbage that people like Farrakhan and the New Black Panthers types (Ironically the same people who, when Martin Luther King Jr. was alive, referred to him as a "Chump" and referred to his followers as "Uncle Toms" for seeking racial harmony rather than black supremacy) spew about white people (Or, really, anyone not black) without any kind of criticism from the public to know that racism still exists. How about the barbaric practices known as "The Knockdown Game" and "Polar Bear Hunting," not much different from KKK members in the 30s randomly seeking out blacks to beat and torment?
"They believe easy access to military-style assault weapons prevents mass shootings and other gun-related deaths even though evidence proves exactly the opposite."
1. None of us have said that. Way to put words in our mouths.
2. None of us believe that regular Americans should have access to military- grade weapons. We simply believe that the basic Second Amendment rights of honest, law- abiding gun- owners should be protected.
3. To the best of my knowledge, none of the recent mass shootings were committed using military- grade weapons.
4. Pretty much all of the recent mass shootings and the overwhelming majority of gun- related crimes were committed using guns that were illegally owned to begin with, and almost all of the recent mass shootings occurred in areas designated as "Gun- free zones." Why, it's almost as if violent criminals don't care about gun laws, and mass shooters prefer to target areas where they're not likely to encounter anyone that could return fire.
"They believe tax cuts stimulate economic growth even though trickle-down only succeeds in ballooning the deficit while leaving the middle class behind."
I believe in trickle- down economics because I experienced the negative end of it (Placing unnecessarily high taxes on business owners and other supposed "1%ers" causes the employees to be the ones who suffer, as it forces said business owners to have to cut hours, wages, and eventually jobs in order to keep their businesses in the black) firsthand in July of 2008, when I and at least one other employee at the family- owned hardware store where I worked were laid off and the remaining workers all had their hours cut in order to help the business deal with budget cuts.
". They believe in the writings of Ayn Rand, whose libertarian theories have never been successfully implemented anywhere. Ever."
You DUmmies believe in the writings and philosophies of Karl Marx and Vladimir Lenin, whose theories not only have never worked anywhere, ever, but whose past attempts at implementation have resulted in many of the most despised dictators in human history, a multitude of human- rights violations, and a civilian death toll higher than the death tolls of the war in Iraq, the war in Afghanistan, and every major twentieth century war COMBINED.
" They believe a series of sting videos indicting Planned Parenthood are totally real, and, indeed, the GOP is legislating based upon those videos despite the reality that 12 state investigations and a spate of nonpartisan fact-checkers have exonerated the healthcare provider of any wrongdoing"
The videos are real, and as I recall, those "Nonpartisan fact- checkers" were all hired by Planned Parenthood. In other words, they were hired and paid by the very people they were supposed to be investigating. Does that sound "Nonpartisan" to any of you?
