Just saw Kanye West's new lyrics for Famous ... Beyond outraged


I won't lump Kim into this, but if any Democratic candidate or politician is now photographed or seen assimilating with Kanye West, they have lost my support forever. These lyrics are beyond jackass. He is practically saying he will rape Taylor Swift.

He's basically saying Taylor Swift owes him sex for him making her famous. He didn't make her famous, she was already selling before he crashed her acceptance speech.

kanye is running into the same problem that any artist from Bowie to Zep does, sooner or later, you start getting caught up in your own hype, and become a distorted Cartoon version of what you used to be. Some artists, like Bowie, get over that, though in order to do that, they have to break the machine they made (like Bowie did when he checked out of the business for years, only to release two of his best albums, Next day and Blackstar.)

That beigns said, while I can feel sorry for many of the women he slams (especially Kim, who has to raise two kids with this dude) I do find all of this halo painting and paladin act for Taylor Swift a joke. She is every bit as much of a cynical manipulator of the pop process as Kanye, or for that matter, the person she is replacing as Queen of Pop, Madonna. Every carefully choreographed fight with either or ex boyfriend or former pop star friend, be they Jake Gyllenhal or Katy Perry, is every bit of sleazy and corrosive to the culture as Kanye, even more so. It is easy to point at Kanye and say he is an asshole, even he will agree with you, but Taylor is a bit of a toxin wrapped in candy.

West seems constantly on the lookout for new ways to further demonstrate what a repulsive, egotistical, self- obsessed sack of crap he is.
He's like a black version of Gaston from 'Beauty and the Beast,' minus the muscles and the good singing voice. I'm genuinely surprised that he has remained married to Kim for as long as he has, since he constantly comes across as someone who's only capable of loving himself. I don't even want to know what their children will end up being like, to have such parents.
It's also pretty moronic (More so than usual for him, I mean) for him to claim in the song that she wouldn't be famous if it weren't for him. I mean, she won a GRAMMY! That already cemented her fame, all West did when interrupting her speech was cement his own infamy.

I actually agree on that.
As a youth pastor, I recently gave a message to my group on the danger of pride, and at one point used both of them as examples of how obnoxious and unlikable a person can become if they let their achievements get to their heads and let themselves be consumed by pride (Trump may be doing well in the polls, but I definitely get the feeling he's a pretty unbearable person to actually be around and personally interact with, largely due to his egotism).
