In the Marine Corps Hymn, the second half of the first line of the lyrics says "...to the Shores of Tripoli".
To what is it referring to and why? Is there anything in recent history that might compare?
Take your time, no rush.
I know exactly what it means. That however, is me. I sincerely don't expect any DUmmies to know this. They may be shocked to learn about it, or not.
Most likely, they'll take is as a micro-agression, or mansplaining, or something, for them to be offended about.
As an aside, I am befuddled how they can so adamantly defend muslims, who kill gays by throwing them off a building, fire, beheading, crucified etc., and how they can defend muslims who stone young girls, behead them, shoot them in the head, for the crime of having been raped.
Those two stances, gay rights and womens rights are sacrosanct to DUmmies, yet they defend muslims who resolutely do this. It boggles the mind.
