nadin's bird finally catches a break

He did pass tonight in my arms

he got into something, I suspect zink... so he is not doing well.

So covered the bird after offering him his favorite foods. He is not that into eating, or making noise or anything like that. He is not ancient, but he is not young either. So unlike his rambunctious sister, 10 years his younger.

The only good news here is that his sister is not avoiding him like the plague. Usually when birds get sick, the rest of the flock kind of abandons them. And I was sick as a dog this week, so I did not quite prevent him playing where the plumbing snake was... (I was running a fever at one point as high as 103... so was not quite thinking clearly) So if he does byte the dust, cross the bridge, whatever euphemism you want to use for a dead bird, I will blame myself. Oh and the snake is in the trash too.

Yes, connie did that, got chelating therapy as well, when she was a young chick, She used to ahem, play with coins... so I should know better... so if your cat, dog, pet bird, does that, stop them. It is cute, but can kill them. Consider that more of a PSA...

Here is a photo

Did you guys see the cage?  Looks like it belonged in Lionessa's apartment.   :o   No wonder it committed suicide!

Mr. Praline: I'll tell you what's wrong with it, my lad. 'E's dead, that's what's wrong with it!

Owner: No, no, 'e's uh,...he's resting.

Mr. Praline: Look, matey, I know a dead parrot when I see one, and I'm looking at one right now.

Owner: No no he's not dead, he's, he's restin'! Remarkable bird, the Norwegian Blue, idn'it, ay? Beautiful plumage!

Mr. Praline: The plumage don't enter into it. It's stone dead.

Owner: Nononono, no, no! 'E's resting!

Mr. Praline: All right then, if he's restin', I'll wake him up! (shouting at the cage) 'Ello, Mister Polly Parrot! I've got a lovely fresh cuttle fish for you if you show...

(owner hits the cage)

Owner: There, he moved!

Mr. Praline: No, he didn't, that was you hitting the cage!

Owner: I never!!

Mr. Praline: Yes, you did!

Owner: I never, never did anything...

Zink?

And yeah, that cage picture could be used on one of those disgusting, whiny Humane Society TV commercials.

The bird cage is probably the best kept part of the nutcase's tiny condo, hard up against a roaring San Diego freeway.

Can you imagine the odor those people must live with? Sickening.

(Her "newspaper" is digital so she has nothing for a cage liner.)

I hope this defunct parrot shows up in the Dead DUmmies forum.

94. Why didn't you take him to the vet when he looked sick?

Or clean up that filth? Or feed him some reasonably nutritious food? I see garbage calories, shit everywhere and walls that look like a meth lab. No wonder he died.

Poor guy. He deserved better.

A Jury voted 6-1 to hide this post on Sun Feb 7, 2016, 06:35 AM. Reason: This post is disruptive, hurtful, rude, insensitive, over-the-top, or otherwise inappropriate.

105. I'm really sorry for your loss

I know you've been sick and not able to do as much, but please try to keep the cage area and food bowls clean for your other bird. Our feathered friends are much more at risk of taking ill if their cages are not cleaned on a regular basis of waste, debris, and spoiled food.

And I'm not sure if you are aware, but rust is very dangerous to birds.

I hope you feel better soon. I know how difficult it is to let things go when we are ill.

Peace.

You would think this is a well-meaning DUmmy whose gentle advice would be appreciated.
You would be wrong.

Let me be sure I understand this line of logic: this bird lived beyond its life expectancy, so it is perfectly acceptable for it to live in the same squalor endured by Nads and her husband and whatever other organism beset with the misfortune of living within her four walls.

Face it, Nads: you made that bird live in squalor, you got called on it, and you're doing your usual deflection and denial. We've seen pictures of you. You're a filthy, hideous, disgusting beast of a "woman," so its no surprise you take every living thing in your control out of its own circumstances to enmire them in yours.

<---- would not be surprised to learn that the bird had a cyanide capsule under its wing the whole time.

On the flip side, she has a free dinner if she wants it.
Liberals disgust me. (Now I don't have to remember to put it on each post).

Because only the left goes searching for that which is not there in a desperate attempt to be offended about something.

Interesting thread over there.

No surprise the DUmmies hid a post pointing out the despicable conditions of the bird's cage.

At least the bird doesn't have to live in Nads squalor anymore.

Nads if by some chance you read this thread, for the love of God please do not get another pet until you can properly care for it.

You'd think she wouldn't need this warning, as Nads' hair clearly indicates a years-long struggle to get her bird to take up residence there.

This is a dramatization of what happened right before the bird died. No birds or humans were hurt in the making of this dramatization. Viewer discretion is advised:
