Some of my colleagues in the Academy thought people might be interested in the points I raised in the email I sent to Cheryl Boone Isaacs (below). I have not received a response.

Solution to this problem, from the liberal playbook:

Change the awards, and give out participation trophies. They make better sense being handed out for that which is subjective, rather than an actual game where theres a clear winner and loser. If its good for grade school football kids, its got to be good for actors.

Imagine the rage and the heads exploding in Hollywood.

It's an equal pay issue.  Aside from the prestige, you get a huge bump in pay once you've won or have been nominated.  Have the Federal government regulate salaries, create the department of film, maybe even take a chunk of money from the top earners in Hollywood and redistribute it to black actors, directors, producers, etc..... do the top earners in Hollywood really need all their money?

Yeah, they are great. I particularly love it when a lefty calls in and get shredded, or, more frequently, proves their point for them. The logic they employ is, with very few exceptions, air tight.
