A Family Reunion Gone Wrong
« on: July 29, 2008, 04:09:22 AM »
The wife got home last night from a family reunion, of sorts!

While they were at the fair, the wife put some money on a horse named Military Pride.  The horse came in last, which was no big deal for the wife, but what her older sister [a LIBERAL] said, pissed off the wife so bad that she heard her sister's son say "mom, aunt Pattie's face is turning red".  The wife's sister stated [not verbatim] that that was typical of the military, they come in last and never finish anything they start.

Yeah, liberals sure do care about the troops.

We've always been considered the black sheep of her family and have been on the outs with them for over a year now.  We've had minimul contact with them for awhile now, but this just solidifies our desire to permanently cut off all contact with them, but only after her mom passes away.

We've already decided that when her mom passes away [she is terminally ill with cancer], we're moving to either New Mexico or Arizona.  The further we get away from Montana and her family, the better.

When our oldest son was in Italy, I e-mailed him to let him know how his mom's family has been treating her.  He was mad as hell about how his mom was being treated that the last time he and his family came to visit, he went to visit his grandma only and got the hell out of town so he didn't have to see them.

I am so proud of your wife for not bitch smacking her sister through the wall.  Maybe she can do it after the funeral though. :cheersmate:

It's hard to finish something when the democrats keep snatching the rug (funds) out from under you.
“The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of ‘liberalism’, they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened.” - Norman Thomas, U.S. Socialist Party presidential candidate 1940, 1944 and 1948

I salute your wife's grace and poise for not kicking her sister's ass on the spot.  With you being retired mil (if I take your handle correctly) that wasn't just a political comment, but a direct slap at her and your family.

The wife was saying that when we go up for the funeral we're not to take any weapons.

We will go up in the morning for the funeral, then [me and our two youngest sons] will make a speedy exit back home so we don't have to deal with those clowns.

The wife will make her own way home -- she has to be nice and stick around, you know the family togetherness thing.  We already know that her mom has left her  the car, so she will have a means of getting home later that day or the next.

Her other sister and her husband are leaning more left.  One thing they don't understand is why we get free medical thru Tri-care when they have to pay.  I guess they don't understand that retired military still have "some" benefits left.

I was amazed that she remained calm and didn't b*tch slap her sister.  Her sister lives in Greenville SC and was an ardant fan of hillary.  One of her kids is over in Germany and living with a "real to life" neo-Nazi, not the wannabes like those who live in the U.S., a real dyed in the wool skinhead.

I better send our oldest, who recently arrived for duty in Germany, an e-mail and let him know about his cousin.  I'd hate to see what would happen if they ever meet over there.  Doug knows how his mom's family has been treating her and he would probably stomp the $hit out of his cousin.

And things like that are why I live in Arizona and the rest of my family lives in the NE.

Where in Arizona?

The wife has been looking at BENSON.  She found this website for the Butterfield RV resort.  The rent units, plus they have lots with units on them for sale.  The prices aren't too bad.  Not all that large, but moving into one of them gives us an excuse for $hitcanning 20 plus years of junk we've collected.  Besides they are too small for anyone but the two of us, which means NO MORE KIDS AT HOME!!!!!!!!!

I live SW of Phoenix, an area I would stay away from for retirement.
Benson is in a nice area.  Fairly, but not too, close to Tucson.  It's down by Ft. Huachuca, short drive to Mexico for cheap Viagra (so I hear), has Kartchner Caverns right there, Tombstone just down the road.

Ooh, that's a nice area. I remember visiting in that area a few times. Really liked it!
