In Britain it drew exactly two complaints, with anecdotal evidence indicating that gays were laughing it off in good humor. In the U.S., where it hasn’t even aired? Outrageously outrageous outrage, prompting Mars to cut its losses and torpedo the campaign. Behold the newest frontier of homophobia — a washed-up 80s action hero belittling your masculinity by tossing candy bars and encouraging you to, er, “get some nuts.â€
Dear Sir or Madam, Thanks to the internet, I saw your ad with Mr. T in it. I found it to be quite amusing. I feel that Mars is submitting to unnecessary pressure by radical groups by not airing the commercial in the US of A. I saw nothing "homophobic" in your commercial. Our companies and people need to take back America and restore it's once strong pride and dignity. We have let the minority overrun this country by their incessant whining and pseudo-offense at every little word, cartoon or publication. I feel that if a person is offended by your commercial then they either have ZERO sense of humor or are just looking for a way to be "offended". Mars Co. needs to stand up for themselves and air this commercial. After all, nuts are a good source of protein.Regards,ThorUSN (ret)
