A big ol slice of humble pie!

Well, that is if republicans knew what being humble meant! Last night we saw what would happen if republicans were in power, total war over nothing. Last night 10 Sailors were held overnight because their boat broke down, had bad comms, and drifted into Iranian waters. The Iranians picked them up, held them and their boat until morning. They were released this morning, with all equipment.

I heard everything from launching tomahawks, to sending in SEAL teams to rescue the men and one woman who was "captured". The biggest thing was they were talking about this only happened because President Obama was weak. I am thankful that President Obama was sitting in the Oval Office last night and not any republican.

Remember 1981 the day before Reagan was in office.  :fuelfire:

Both boats had engine, communication and navigation issues simultaneously?  Really?

One radio call and a helicopter would have been overhead in minutes long before the boats "drifted" into Iranian waters.

I think that by your observation, we can again conclude that nadin's cousin coach franksolich is right as rain...again.
DUmmies lie, and DUmmies lie all the time.
And in case any DUmmie lurking(like Buzzy) would dispute that, repeating something you know to be untrue is a lie.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

You Dummies make it sound like our iranian "allies" acted like Vessel Assist and helped our Sailors when their outboard failed.

Is this how Vessel Assist normally treats the boaters they come across to assist?

Does Vessel Assist rummage thru your personal belongings while rendering you aid on the water?

Or make your women folk wear headscarves while providing you extra gas to get you on your way?

You DUmmies will believe anything your false god in the white house tells you.  The fact is the iranians know obama is weak and did this to embarass the .S. on the global stage.

Especially when you consider there are TWO carrier battle groups in that area right now.  One U.S. and one French.  Even a garbled partial transmission that said nothing more than "Iranians...being boarded" would have sent Helo's and CAS screaming in to protect them and prevent the Sailors from being taken to Farsi Island .

Those ****ers are in serious violation of Article 13 of the Geneva Conventions...and our leadership and the Administration are saying "thank you".  What a ****ing joke.  What a ****ing slap in the face to the entire profession of arms.

I would also suspect they had SAT comms along with the standard RF marine radios and probably a few cell phones to boot.

This still does not make sense to me and I would love to know the real story of how two Boston Whaler's with a couple of yahoos carrying AK47's can board two heavily armed US patrol boats. I would bet the house it is Obummers ROE.

Say what? I thought the boats had lost comms. So How would DC know they were having trouble? Without close-by USN ships knowing and sending aid?

I don't know what really happened, but some really simple stuff has me doubting the narrative. E.G., both boats lost comms? both boats lost power at the same time? The hands-on-heads-kneeling pic. The obviously scripted "apology".

How long did they drift before crossing into Iranian territory? Why were they that close to begin with?  Four engines failing?  No flair guns or signaling mirrors?

Maybe the Iranians used the cloned Sentinel drone that was donated by Obummer to locate and coordinate an attack with larger ships than we are being told about.

yeah, me too.  Popular Mechanics put out an article describing the Riverine Command Boats (RCB) and they don't sound like light weights

Quote
The RCBs bristle with weaponry, averaging a weapons station every ten feet. There are four mounts for machine guns, which can handle M2HB .50-caliber heavy machine guns, GAU-19 .50-caliber miniguns, and M240 medium machine guns. Typically a RCB mounts one of each, with one .50 caliber station sometimes mounting two heavy machine guns (see above). The boats are also equipped with a Mk49 remote control weapons station equipped with a M2HB heavy machine gun. Developed by Israeli defense contractor Rafael, the Mk49 has a 360 degree arc of fire.

Navy small boats have a reputation for being thinly armored, but an RCB can take a beating. Armor provides protection from up to 7.62-millimeter bullets. The bow and hull are reinforced so the boats can be run aground on rocky shores without worrying about gouging a hole and taking on water. The RCB can even be fitted with a chemical weapons air filtration system.

Ash Carter is now blaming the crew for making a navigational error and entering Iranian waters. Just came out on FNC.

So the crew made a navigational error, blundered into iranian waters and THEN had mechanical problems with both boats?

The original story I read said the boats lost contact with "the Pentagon". Not 5th Fleet or the Carrier BG commander...but "the Pentagon". I found that rather strange. They don't normally get involved with operations like a couple boats transiting from one port to another.

I'm kind of confused. The initial reports were saying two boats, but subsequent reports have only talked about the crew and one boat being returned.
