help me pick my next car. i need safety gizmos.

so, i am in a position to buy a new car. i am 61, and have never been the worlds greatest driver. i am not going to get any better. but i have another 30 years or so on this rock, and i dont want to be stuck without wheels.
i do a lot of city driving. occasional road trip, but not that often.

i would like a small, economical car, but something sporty would be nice. i like the little beemer 2 seater, and my all time fave car is the old benz 2 seaters from the 70's.

but above all, what i need is a good collision avoidance system.
solid warrantee service is also a must. i know that goes dealer to dealer, but want a good plan. intend to drive this car into the dust.
price matters, but long term value is more important than a low price.

whatcha think lounge?

1. Look at Subaru- very safe cars, big savings on insurance because they are so safe.

2. I drive a Mercedes-Benz E-350. Main reason was I wouldn't have to buy another automobile for..

..quite a long time and the service is great at the dealers plus warranty is outstanding.

The best safety gizmo is a Sherman tank.

No doubt because you knew Sherman, right?

10. Another vote for the Civic.

I've got a 2010 model so it doesn't have the latest technology on it, but it has been a very good car for me and I've had little trouble with it. I hear they'll take a ton of miles, too, although mine only has about 50,000 on it. When I bought mine, they offered an optional three year 36,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. I think a five year 100,000 mile warranty on the drive train was standard at the time.

Ok, how does this clown fit into a Civic?

Now if I did not know this dummie, I would say this was a mole.

Slaps the dummies upside the head with wants an expensive sporty car, mentions beemers and bentzies, then tempers it by saying she wants it economical. Gotta save the planet!  Slaps them upside the head again and said she can afford a nice car and tempers it with saying she wants value... dummies are cheap.  Then says she will last until 90 yrs old. Dummies like them some old folk.

My 2 cents is she just wanted to lord it over the dummies that A:) she can afford a new car B:) she can afford a nice new car C:) she is in such good health that she can last until 90 years old and D:) she is interested in "value".

Gotta love it when mopinko brags.   :lmao:

MoPinko just needs to find a sugar daddy with an extra Beemer and learn how to work his gear shifter.

Have you seen Big Mo?

No gear shifter this side of eternity would stand at attention for what she has to offer.

I was going to give some honest advice but if she wants a new vehicle, I can't really recommend anything being sold as of 2015.

If I had to buy ANY car that would last for 30 years, I would buy a final-year Mercury Grand Marquis (2011).  They're attractive, durable, and parts will be available until the Sun goes cold.

I have my original Kawasaki H2 and would suggest she get a 2015 or 2016 Kawasaki H2 and pin the throttle with traction control off.

Here is Mo's chicken coop, along with a picture of her wearing a tie dye shirt:

I can't decide if the nitrate one gets from bat $hit is better than the methane one gets from vegan farts for an improvised $hitcargo boom.  I built a chicken coup deville out here in the sticks that makes her farm look like a heroin den.

Then-Chief Justice John Marshall observed, “Between a balanced republic and a democracy, the difference is like that between order and chaos.”

John Adams warned in a letter, “Remember democracy never lasts long. It soon wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There never was a democracy yet, that did not commit suicide.”

Maybe a convertible ... as in convertible to a chicken coop?

No recommendations of the Chevy Volt, with its ~$7000 taxpayer subsidy?

Volvos were the LibMobiles of the 90s, are Subarus the LibMobiles of the 201Xs?

We all know the Volt is for the Plebeians. The members of the party elite get the good cars.

But I think I know the perfect car for Mo, the Reliant Robin:

Somebody needs to tell Big Mo she ought to be ashamed of herself. Spending big money on a carbon producing automobile instead of find something 20 years old and donating the rest to the destitute at DU who need her money more than she does.

Flaunting her wealth in their faces is beyond the pale. She ought to be banned and have her assets seized.

She won't share, the big poopyhead.
Liberals disgust me. (Now I don't have to remember to put it on each post).

Because only the left goes searching for that which is not there in a desperate attempt to be offended about something.

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams

So many of her fellow DUers are wish a duping, and gofundme-ing that I too am surprised Mo has the gall to flaunt her intentions.
My recommendation is a Half Track. She will be relatively safe and feel right at home in it...
