Close, but sloppy.

An atheist believes/asserts that there is no god. Which means there is no basis for any law or authority not dependent on and changeable by force of the gun, ballot box, or social pressure.

I do have to agree about country music, though. However I wish I liked it, as there seem to be more decent people among country musicians and fans than in the styles that I like (or maybe they're more open about it ... wait ... am I ruining a joke by being serious?).
