Fox's Brian Kilmeade Asks Black Co-host If She Makes Kool-Aid

A "Fox & Friends" segment on peach cobbler appeared to get uncomfortably tense when anchor Brian Kilmeade asked co-host Harris Faulkner if she serves Kool-Aid with her meals.

The question was dished out as Faulkner, who is African-American, presented her recipe ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.

After Faulkner mentioned that a summer version of her cobbler can be prepared as well, Kilmeade, who is white, asked, “Do you make Kool-Aid?”

As the video above shows, the lively chatter among the four hosts came to a brief halt as Faulkner reacted.

Note: My viewpoint. I don't know how fried chicken, watermelon and Kool-aid got associated with being racist (I understand it) because it is Southern. So I guess some people are slamming blacks for being from the south? As blacks moved north for the good paying jobs and less segregation they naturally took southern cooking and southern tastes with them.

Why oh why are people so offended? She just as easily could have smiled and said, "Yes, I make my own, according to my recipe, which makes the best kool-aid ever, and the recipe is a secret", and be done with it (whether or not she has a secret recipe).

I swear, I have no idea, none whatsoever, what drives liberals to look to be offended in every way possible every day. They must lay awake at night thinking how low and ridiculous they can go the following day.

I like Kool Aid, I'm not black. Is that going to present a problem?  I like fried chicken to........am I bi-racial and don't even know it?  DUmmies have got to be about the lowest intelligence people on earth.

I grew up on fried chicken, watermelon and kool-aid and never once, not once, did I consider it black food. My mom and dad called it "southern comfort food" (Meaning ALL southerners even though I was born and raised in northeastern Ohio), "soul food" if you will. I also like ribs, fried chicken livers (I can't stand beef liver), collard/mustard/turnip greens (with red vinegar, salt and bacon pieces). I like butterbeans over rice with chopped onion and a variety of other southern foods. Does that make me racist? Oh hell no. I grew up in a black neighborhood (and everything was fine until '64 and civil rights, when I became, for some reason, the enemy even though I was friends with everyone), and the black man next door was MR. Benefield (my dad would have kicked my a*s had I not called him MR.).

I can't understand what's going on today, I truly can't.

I'm white and I drink Kool-Aid and when I buy it at the grocery store I have never had to go to the ethnic food aisle looking for it.  I drank a lot of it when I was a kid, but I guess it was my mom that was buying it--I'll have to wait until next Thanksgiving to chastise her for the cultural appropriation.  I have recently started buying it again in the miniature packets that you can mix with a single serving sized bottle of water.

How ridiculous. In the past year, I switched from drinking diet coke to store brand flavored water.  Specifically Grape as well as Peach Iced Tea.  Cheaper, tasty, & few calories.
