Anne Frank Literally Died Because Of America’s Anti-Refugee Stance
You’ve probably heard of Anne Frank, a Jewish girl who famously recorded her experiences hiding from the Nazis. What you may not have heard is that she was one of the refugees the United States callously turned away in the early 1940’s. In February, Reuters reported that letters had been discovered showing that Frank’s father, Otto, was seeking help and money to procure a U.S. visa to flee Adolf Hitler.
Frank asked a former classmate in New York, Nathan Strauss, who owned Macy’s department store, for $5,000 as he attempted to flee Holland with his wife, mother-in-law, and daughters Anne and Margo. “This is the first concrete evidence that he did actually pursue the possibility of escape from Holland,†New York University professor David Engel said when the letters were released by the YIVO Institute for Jewish Research.
The letters, telegrams, and government documents reveal that Frank attempted to get into the United States in 1941, a year before the family went into hiding. In a letter to Strauss, Otto Frank wrote:
“It is for the sake of the children mainly that we have to care for. Our own fate is of less importance. You are the only person I know that I can ask.â€
Ultimately, the $5,000 was not needed because the “sake of the children†was not a matter of importance to the United States Government, who denied the visa. Strauss, now deceased, and his wife made several attempts to appeal the decision, even enlisting the aid of others, but to no avail. Anne Frank died in 1945 in a German concentration camp. American presidential election, 1940 American presidential election held on Nov. 5, 1940, in which Democrat Franklin D. Roosevelt defeated Republican Wendell L. Willkie. By becoming the first president to win a third term, Roosevelt broke the two-term precedent established by the country’s first president, George Washington.
Not only that but the Republican Party had been defeated in landslide elections to Roosevelt in 1932 and 1936. Although Roosevelt was re-elected, support for his administration had dropped somewhat after eight years, and the Republican opposition gained three seats from the Democrats. However, the New Dealers regained firm control of both the US House of Representative and US Senate because Progressives dominated the election. The Minnesota Farmer–Labor Party also disappeared from the Senate, as Henrik Shipstead joined the Republican party and Ernest Lundeen had died during the preceding term.
The Dems held 66 seats in the senate, the Republicans 28.
The United States House of Representatives House election, 1940 coincided with President Franklin Delano Roosevelt's re-election to an unprecedented third term. His Democratic Party narrowly gained seats from the opposition Republican Party, cementing their majority. However, the election gave firm control of the US House of Representatives and Senate to the New Dealers once again, as Progressives dominated the election.
Democratic Party 267 61%
Republican Party 162 37%
Progressives 3 .06%
So the DEMS firmly held the government for the proceeding 8 years prior to 1940 and gained in the 1940 election in all elections. Somehow the NAZI atrocities are the Republicans fault.

5. The USA won't save its homeless and hungry.
Until they do, they shouldn't take in folks from other countries.
If barry is going to be successful in fundamentally changing the country he has to bring a lot of 3rd world muslims into the US.
