the dems should be deeply troubled as to why their guy isn't up 20 points after his
most excellent "obamagasm world tour" . . . .

I have been worried about what the numbers would look like after he delivers what will
surely be another obamagasmic speech at his convention, but if the numbers aren't going
to move any more than this after his world tour, maybe his high water mark isn't as high as
I was thinking it would be.

PRINCETON, NJ -- Barack Obama has stretched his lead over John McCain among national registered voters to seven percentage points, 48% to 41%, in Gallup Poll Daily tracking conducted July 23-25.

This represents a continuation of Obama's frontrunner position in Gallup's Friday report, when he led McCain by six points, 47% to 41%. Earlier this week, Obama and McCain were separated by just two to four points, but that was before the extensive U.S. news coverage of the last leg of Obama's foreign tour. Obama's particularly large leads over McCain in Friday and Saturday's tracking suggest that the massive publicity surrounding Obama's speech at the Victory Tower in Berlin on Friday -- the only major public event of the trip -- and coverage of Obama's meetings with the heads of state in France and Germany may have tilted U.S. voter preferences more in his favor.

Part of this is McCain's fault. He's not DOING anything while Obama is on his Obamanation World Tour.

it's hard to find fault with his lack of aggressiveness during the past week.  the MSM was in full swoon over
their obamagasmic world tour.  he tried, and his campaign released some stinging rebuttals to what was going
on overseas, but no one was listening.

I understand that the mccain campaign is going to turn the "cancel the visit to the wounded troops" into a
campaign commercial.

Precisely.  When he was in NH this past week, he was met at the airport by ONE reporter and ONE photog.

And as for the Obamanation, that little bounce he got from his Barackstar! world tour will disappear quickly when people see what he was REALLY doing (not much of substance, that's for sure).

Well, it's a start (with the ads from McCain slamming Obama not visiting Landstuhl). The funny thing is that the soldiers all knew that the visit was a load of crap to begin with, if actually did happen.

Some of us have long memories. This will be remembered, and it might tie in with the October surprise.

Absolutely.

Got to think continuing pattern with BHO.  His ditching the wounded troops when he couldn't make it a campaign thing ties to his making the Western Wall into a BHO rally, ties to his rhetoric, voting record etc etc etc

Pundits and historians are now noting that summer polls of Dems Vs. Republicans showed DEMS were leading by 17-20% in the Carter/Ford (carter won by a few % points), Carter/Reagan, Dukakis/Bush, Gore/Biush, Kerry/Bush -- all had (D) leading.  Since every poll of so-called "reporters" has indicated a 85%+ Democratic leaning (I'll behappy to talk about that another time), this is the worst case of wishful thinking in the modern era.  Had GHW Bush not had integrity enough to go back on his promise of "no new taxes," it would have been a Republican sweep for the last 28 years.

The fact hussein can't break 50% with the MSM carrying his water and fawning over him is extremely good news for those of us who don't want a Socialist Paradise here in the USA.

Latest pole has in McCain by 4%. The pole I worry about is the one on 11-4. Last 45 days he needs to bear down on the moronic obama "plans".

McCain has moree ammunition in the note the State of Washington health care plan to a cancer patienst age 58. The letter refuses treatment, but offers to kill him humanely. How perfect is that?

Lets see what the polls say next week. McCain has released an AD that says Obama had time to go to the gym with the troops, but he couldn't be bothered to go to the hosiptal to meet wounded troops when cameras weren't allowed. That's going to leave a mark.

Well, FWIW, he's down by six today by this same outfit. What's odd is that they polled likely voters over the same time period and got a Juan lead that time:

It is very likely that the populations of NYS, KALI-FORN-YA and Ill. will give Barak the simple majority of the popular vote. HOWEVER, it is the Electorial College that gives the election of the President, and that's wi9thin McCain's grasp.

A 7 point lead is nothing to scoff at...while it's not nearly as high as the democrats would hope for...it's still a healthy lead.
If it were within the 3% margin of error, I wouldn't be worried....but luckily the REAL campaign fighting hasnt' started yet....still, I wouldn't call this good news.

obama is peaking early...

mccain is saving  momentum for election time  when the economy will be improved & gas prices more stablized....

nobody gives a fluck in the summer, so obama is basically performing to an empty studio audience...

My theory is, there's a great many similarities between John McCain and Marshall Zhukov, and I'm slowly starting to suspect I just may be right.  I'm not God, so I don't know for sure, it seems "trending" this way.

Just before the final Battle of Berlin in April-May 1945, Zhukov spent a lot of time diddling around, staying where he was at, going nowhere.  This "strategy" confused a lot of people; the guy could go right to Berlin and take it, it seemed to most people.

But instead, he sat behind the lines, not doing a damned thing.

That wasn't the case.

Actually, he was taking the time to bring to the front the biggest and the largest number of cannons and other artillery that he could muster out of the socialist paradise of the workers and peasants.

I'm no expert on armaments, but it seems to me this must have been one of the largest and most impressive collections of cannon and artillery ever put into one place, in the history of the world.

Well, once it was all there, and in place, we know what happened.

I'm guessing, and I'm of course hoping I'm right, that this is what's going on.
