EAST HARLEM, N.Y. (WABC) --
The investigation continued early Wednesday morning after an NYPD officer was fatally shot in the head in East Harlem Tuesday night.

Officer Randolph Holder, 33, was rushed to Harlem Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 10:22 p.m.

"He is the fourth New York City police officer murdered in this city in the last 11 months," New York City Police Department Commissioner William Bratton said during a press conference at Harlem hospital where Holder was pronounced dead Tuesday night. "That's about as bad as it gets.

Holder was responding to a report of a shooting near 102nd Street around 8:30 p.m. He approached a group standing near an FDR Drive footbridge. There was an extended chase of one of the members of the group, who was on a bicycle. In an exchange of gunfire near East 120 Street, the officer was shot in the head.

During an ensuing search another injured person, believed to be suspect, was found shot at East 125th Street. Three other men were taken into custody around 111th Street just before 9 p.m. and are being questioned.

The Judicial system, instead of putting him away, sent him to rehab.

Quote
The career criminal charged Wednesday with killing a Manhattan cop was on the street because a judge opted to send him to drug rehab instead of prison.
Tyrone (Peanut) Howard, who is allegedly responsible for the death of NYPD Officer Randolph Holder Jr., was allowed to enter a drug-diversion program after he was busted last year on a drug-peddling charge.

Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Edward McLaughlin signed off in favor the the diversion program.
Judge Patricia Nunez "signed off on the treatment deal in the end after Howard was cleared through a screening process."
Prosecutor Christopher Prevost recommended "six years followed by three years post-release supervision."

Additionally, there's the Sentencing Reform and Corrections Act.  Daniel Horowitz @ the Conservative Review:

Quote
This bill will retroactively allow judges to release thousands of hardened cocaine, meth, and heroin dealers from federal prison.  It will reduce the severity of many of these typical crimes that are warning signs of a violent criminal.  Additionally, Section 211 of this bill gives more discretion to judges to seal and expunge criminal records of juvenile criminals.  How many more Tyrone Howards will be let out onto the streets?  And remember, Tyrone wasn’t even bad enough to make it into a federal prison like these individuals who are the subject of the criminal justice bill.

Actions have consequences, & because this criminal was on the street, Officer Randolph Holder Jr. met with an untimely, violent death.  So tragic.

And a lot of good that did...

Oh, I apologize for my lack of clarity.  I meant to support what a wrong decision that was & tried to back it up.  It was, in fact, a lethal decision that caused the untimely death of a honorable man.

Call me what you wish but unless there is an all out race war in this country it will not change. The liberal propaganda machine will continually BLAME the conservatives no matter what the cause.
Oh and for those who say the officers are also black, well they are uncle Toms to the lefties.

Judge who freed ‘cop-killer’ apologizes: ‘I am truly sorry’
http://nypost.com/2015/10/24/judge-who-freed-cop-killer-apologizes-i-am-truly-sorry/

Quote
Now she’s sorry — five months after freeing the career drug dealer who is charged with murdering Police Officer Randolph Holder.

The hero cop’s death this week, by a bullet to the forehead during a shootout in East Harlem, “breaks my heart,” Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Patricia Nuñez said Friday.

“I know. I am truly sorry,” Nuñez said sadly when a Post reporter reminded her about the 33-year-old cop’s devastated family.

Really? The killer, Tyrone Howard, is a career criminal. He should never see the day of freedom, ever.

Time to remove all liberal judges.

So Nunez gives a lame apology, like did she contact the victim's family & ask what she could do, since she did so much damage already.  But McLaughlin stands by his decision when he recommended drug rehab for this killer.

Liberal judges, unfortunately, are here to stay.  Just wait until we get 1 more liberal Supreme.  That will count as a full deck for the progressives.  Also, 9 of the 13 US courts of appeals have a liberal majority.  & O, his Dems & the liberal R's aren't done yet.  Who could forget Lindsey Graham, & his enthusiastic vote to confirm Sotomayor & Kagan?
