My 24 year old daughter loves Bernie so much she started crying last night

when I told her Bernie was one of only two sitting US Senators to hear MLKs "I Have a Dream Speech" in person in the March on Washington and led the first ever civil rights sit-in in Chicago history to protest segregated housing. She already knew how great Bernie is on the issues and how pitch perfect he is on communicating his ideas in a no nonsense manner with respect and humility. To add this civil rights history along with the support for gay rights (told her about Burlingtons Gay Pride Parade in 81) it was too much for her. She cried and said "he's just too good for us Mama". I cried too. We both agree there will be no greater leader in my lifetime and maybe not hers either. And she said "We millenials need to vote and in big numbers and he will win". I said yep. Let's get to work for Bernie!
O. M. G. How are we supposed to take millenials seriously when this is how they think?????????

I hope Bernie is the dem candidate. I really do.  I have come to the conclusion this country is finished so we might as well get it over with.  Then maybe the pajama boy generation will finally figure out there is no free lunch when things go to hell.  I'll survive... the EBT generation? Probably not.

I just want to see Bernard and the Donald debate.  Donald will have Barney sputtering and fuming like a cheap Chinese rocket on the Fourth of July.  I can just see the veins popping and eyes bugging out as the Donald skewers him like a beef kebab over and over again. It won't be the kissy face love fest the Democratics will be putting on that's for sure.   :rotf:

Are we going to have to stomach this "too good for us" bullshit every four or eight years from now on?

1. Sometimes I think he's too good for us.
He will be this century's FDR, I'm quite sure.

A cult of personality arises when an individual uses mass media, propaganda, or other methods, to create an idealized, heroic, and at times, worshipful image, often through unquestioning flattery and praise. Sociologist Max Weber developed a tripartite classification of authority; the cult of personality holds parallels with what Weber defined as "charismatic authority". A cult of personality is similar to divinization, except that it is established by mass media and propaganda usually by the state, especially in totalitarian states.

What will occur?

Jesus could drop out of the heavens tomorrow, in full view of everyone, and if he wasn't handing out unlimited EBT cards and pamphlets titled "One Neat Trick To Get Social Security Disability",  they would throw rocks at him and call him a Right Wing Extremist.

That's their problem; they don't like the Real Thing, thinking some sort of ersatz product is better.

Don't even try.  The vast majority of them are too naive about the bullshit they were taught in school to function in the real world.  Oh, they're well-intentioned, a lot of them even have a decent work ethic, and they're nice enough.  They just absolutely suck at thinking stuff through, like the actual long-term cost and feasibility of the 'Environmentally-responsible' energy ideas, altruistic social policies, or the freebies they think the government should give them.

We're pretty much screwed.

No, certainly don't cry about the stupidity obeyme has and continues to inflict on the country. Cry in happy anticipation of a new candidate doing more of the same.  :jerkit:

OMG, the only thing to beat Bernie vs. Donald would be Hildebeast vs. Donald.  She'd try to make him seem like a big bully, and he'd  :dozer: over her like he does everyone else.  And no mistake, Trump is not a chump; he is no Lazio and if he yells at her and she cries, he'll laugh at it and get more than half of America laughing with him.
Even today, the Dem first debate, he's gonna be tweeting during it and guaranteed he's gonna get as many followers as all five Dems do on television.  Don Lemon is going to FB the debate so that's where to go to get a pulse on how Dems really feel about the candidates.

I tried my best, but both my kiddos at age 24 weren't interested in anything but their jobs and their friends and non-political stuff.  In fact, my 28-year old son has never bothered to opine about ANY candidate prior to Trump and he about blew me away when he nonchalantly mentioned that he saw something interesting in the guy he'd actually consider voting this time.  Ditto on the old black neighbor down the street.  Most people don't spend much time following politics, and that especially holds true for the young.  If this 24-year old daughter of a dummie even knows who Bernie Sanders is, I'd be extremely surprised.  Hell, watch Watters World segment of Bill O'Reilly and you can see for yourself how absolutely stoopid American's youth are about, not just presidential candidates, but who we fought during the Revolution, who won the Civil War and really dumbed down questions like that.
Big bouncy fail for the dummie.

Except that Bernie is going to make things right by having all of us paying for their useless degrees, and then give them huge quantities of food stamps and housing allotments and get them an increase to $15/hour for their barista jobs, which is all they will be qualified for with degrees in sociology and art history. No, this DUmbass daughter knows who Bernie is because, free ponies for everyone!!!

Well, neither one of my kids went to college, which is nothing but a ****ing rip off perpetuated on today's parents by shills from academia pushing any degree as worthy.  The only ones worth a damn will lead to a job; the rest will lead to barista jobs.  Both my kids have high school degrees and jobs with co-workers who are over educated for what they do.  Bonus for hubby and me, no college debt.  We would have paid some, but the value of a college degree has gone up only in how much one pays for it, not what one gets from it...my kids are debt free, educated quite well and free thinking.  None of those things are possible in most of today's college atmosphere.
My kids, and lots of other kids in America, still know there is no such thing as a free pony.  Most of the idiots supporting the likes of Bernie are juveniles, no matter their chronological age.  I still think most of the youngsters out there have no clue about politics and moreover, don't give a shit.  I could be wrong, but it really is hard to imagine today's celebrity obsessed youth getting creamy and dreamy over a shriveled up old man like Bernie, or his equally shriveled up hag counterpart, Hildebeast.

Seriously if one behaves like they are a teenager at a rock concert over a political candidate they have no business having any influence in the direction of the country. Incidentally such 'vapors' and over emotionality is what anti suffragists hoisted at women during that time as a reason they should not be allowed to vote. They were not considered able to seperate thier emotionaity from issues. While it was a cheap shot likely for the strong women of that time, what an utter embarrassment liberal women like this and Joy hot in the pants for Bernie Behar are to those original opinionated and level headed females of that suffragists movement and what an embarrassment they live up to the concerns of the anti suffragists. Pathetic.
