House members weeping in Capitol... [Drudge headline]
« on: October 09, 2015, 09:43:21 AM »
The speaker chase: Who’s next?

“It is total confusion — a banana republic,” said Rep. Peter King (R-N.Y.), a Boehner ally, as he recounted seeing a handful of House Republicans weeping Thursday over the downfall of McCarthy and the broader discord. “Any plan, anything you anticipate, who knows what’ll happen. People are crying. They don’t have any idea how this will unfold at all.”

OMG! Can we have a less weepy Republican Party?

I'm sure Peter King is lying, it was probably only Boehner who was crying but geez! Why would anyone even say that?

I know what will happen: A LEADER WILL RISE and say "Follow Me". I'd be good with one whose name hasn't been floated: Gibson (NY) (a former BDE commander in 82nd Airborne).
I do NOT want Paul Ryan, not after that BS he pulled trying to alter military retirement a few years back, and then doubled down by basically implying that military retirees are financially breaking the country...

Why shouldn't we have some fun with this?  Everything in Washington is so dreary.
So here goes my conspiracy theory.

They're all doing the Boehner weep so when this comes up, they can weep some more & say, ohhh, its too hard, we don't have the votes.

ohhh, its too hard

& if we feel like crying over blatant Congressional hypocrisy, there's this:

Hypocrites

& if I may add, yo, Rino Peter King along with Christie et al. who gave us Sandy pork, I agree its turning into a Banana Republic.  When Boehner suspended the vote because he couldn't get McCarthy, & had to have another CoC approved candidate to take his place...well, all this screwing of the American people takes some time.  Paul Ryan will do fine, he's pro-amnesty & open borders ...so Boehner's working on it, like, what else can the CoC promise Ryan to take the job?

I'm glad to see the RINO's are finally getting a clue about how we conservatives have felt like for years, frustrated and weepy due to being ignored and mocked by our so-called fellow Republicans.  Of course, we can get all kinds of stuff accomplished in the House, given the right leadership, but until Turtles Mcconnell sticks his head back in his shell for good and GOES AWAY, the Senate will continue on its obstructionist path with Dingy Harry still defacto leader.

Funny how for every ten breathless stories about how we Republicans are imploding, the media might deign to mention the wee problems within Dimmie ranks once.  Because of course having the House senior position up in the air is so much more grave to the future of a political party than the standard bearer of the rival party being subjected to a pesky FBI investigation.

Yes, it brings a smile to my face.

These R's remind me of a pecking order, or dominance hierarchy.

McClatchyDC is calling it:
a civil war

Rep. Tim Huelskamp (R-Kansas):

Quote
People are so angry, so distrustful. We’ve got to do something different than what we’ve been doing around here for 30, 40, 50 years.

Ya think?

I don't really know this, but I would surmise upper level positions of Congress get more perks or more pork (now called riders to divert us) for their districts.  Sure, that's so much more important than the silent invasion from our open borders & masses of Syrian refugees who are not here to integrate into American culture.  Oh, that's right, the rinos want this as much as the D's.

Hey, Ryan's liberalism is so popular, he just got a great endorsement:

Gutierrez endorses Ryan

The thought of Ryan taking the helm means GOPe tactics as usual.  Rino Ryan is still thinking about it.

Roy Beck, President, NumbersUSA:
Quote
“There’s nobody in the Republican Party who could be worse than Paul Ryan.  He has spent his entire adulthood ideologically connected to the open borders crowd. Open Borders is in his ideological DNA. That’s the terrifying thing. He’s an ideologue and his spent his whole life working for ideologues. Open borders seeps out of every pore of his being. This isn’t personal, it’s just who he is.”

Rep. Ileana Ros-Lehtinen (R-FL):

Quote
Ryan worked “every day” to pass the mass amnesty bill for all of America’s illegal immigrant population.

We can only hope that the Freedom Caucus upholds opposition to this Boehner clone; oh-oh, wait a sec., just read Jim Jordan, chairman of the Freedom Caucus would "look favorably" @ Ryan.  What?!?

From what I read, Jordan would only look favorably on Ryan if he agreed to certain things, like rules changes that would allow votes on conservative issues even if there weren't the votes.

I read that Ryan would only accept the post if he had no opposition. No demands.  So I don't think it's going to happen. What an embarrassment Ryan has turned into.

The last thing we need is another RINO as speaker.  But I actually heard this morning on the local show before Beck, that if the REPS don't get their act together then the DEMS would decide; or another scenario, Boehner stays on and doesn't step down. There have even been rumors of Eric Cantor being seated.  Ryan doesn't seem to have the votes needed so he's kind of out of the picture.  Gowdy doesn't  want the position ... only one that seems interest provided that there are enough votes is Gingrich!  So far he seems like the best candidate out of all the others mentioned.
I believe in the United States of America as a government of the people, by the people, for the people; whose just powers are derived from the consent of the governed, a democracy in a republic, a sovereign Nation of many sovereign States; a perfect union, one and inseparable; established upon those principles of freedom, equality, justice, and humanity for which American patriots sacrificed their lives and fortunes. I therefore believe it is my duty to my country to love it, to support its Constitution, to obey its laws, to respect its flag, and to defend it against all enemies.

I could get behind Gingrich, for the simple fact that he's NOT elected and NOT beholden to any special interests.

Well, to be fair to Ryan the RINO, he kept telling them he didn't want the job and if he has any further, higher political aspirations, the Speakership is akin to the grave for those kinds of ambitions.  Plus, the wifey don't sound pleased.  Lots of headache for little to no gain, now who in their right mind would want that grief?  Apparently no one these days.
