We got a USPS mailer from the DNC today
   
 
They will get a blistering reply instead of the $ they were expecting

Well, if the mailer included a pre-paid envelope, stuff the rest of the solicitation crap into that and mail it back to the DNC. They'll get the message if enough people cost them return postage $$.

Sending strangers a document with the transit number of one's checking account seems imprudent to me. OTOH, sending photocopied Monopoly money would send the same message.

Too bad I don't get solicitation letters from the DNC (just the NRA).

Take the "pre-paid" ("business reply"?) envelope, tape it to a box with a brick in it, and mail it back.  DNC is on the hook for the postage.
