Actually this has to with the general dynamics of being black in white spaces…
And the need to over-achieve in order to accepted as an equal.
With Republicans, of course, this has to do with appearing as if you've lost your ****ing mind. Black conservatives usually have to pander to whites in order to obtain the proper response from their white peers.
Always notice that the messages from "successful" black conservatives relate are usually tailored for white audiences. Black conservatives aren't talking to black people, because there's an inherent anti-blackness message in that kind of language. Black cons try to get ahead by making white conservatives feel good about themselves.
Black cons are opportunists, pure and simple.
This is why the boy primitive, and those in the black community who view things as he does, will never get what they desire from the Dem party. I used to feel for them and wish they could see how they're being used, but they refuse to see it or admit. Their pride won't let them. So for some time now, I decided if they don't care they're being used, why should I?
Now, if you were to ask the boy primitive, he would tell you blacks vote for Dems because they deliver for them. But anyone using any common sense at all will know that's a lie. High unemployment, poverty, gang violence, drugs, and if you ask them, they're still having to deal with rampant racism. This is what voting Dem has got them. Of course, the boy primitive blames it all on Republicans/conservatives. It's a lot easier to blame others rather than point the finger at himself and say "You know, those Dems make a lot of promises, but things don't really ever get any better. Maybe they take us for granted." You see, that's his pride getting in the way.
Politics is a numbers game. If you have a voting bloc, in this case black voters, who support your party at 90%, you don't have to cater to them. That fact's not even debatable. Just throw some rhetoric their way, an occasional bone from time to time, tell them those other guys will treat them worse, and you've got a group that's dependable voters. And that's exactly what the Dems have done, and it works. Quite frankly, I can't blame the Dems. When you got a group that's that gullible, why not?
Why black leaders have never told the Dems that if they don't get some concessions they'll bolt and vote Republican, I can only guess. They should have played both sides. Would have been a great way to use some leverage. But once again, as has happened throughout history, the leadership got the royal treatment, and allowed their constituents to get the shaft.
What's going to really catch their attention is when the Hispanics/Latinos become the new minority of whom to be catered. Get them and the Dems don't need the black voters anymore.
Once again, eventually they like being treated like dirt and convincing themselves they're not. And they'll tell me it's racist to hold the view that I do, that they know best about what is in their interests, and that the Dems are fulfilling it. All I got to say to that is there's no way in the world, if I were in their shoes, that I could keep the blinders on to the history of how they've been used by the Dems for decades now. I just don't see how they can't see it. But they seem to be OK with it, so good for them, because until they change, it's not going to get any better.
