Fundies would do that if they could.

Were you being sarcastic?

Or do you seriously believe Bob Jones University (or some lesser known Fundamentalist institution) has classes like Plundering & Raping 101? Or that the sewing circles at local Independent Fundamental Baptist churches are secretly making and stockpiling suicide vests while men's Bible studies are actually making IEDs?
If The Vaccine is deadly as anti-Covid-vaxxers claim, millions now living would have died.

It's mandatory at the DUmp, but as a general rule folks of average intelligence don't have to rely on a stupid "sarcasm" label.

I occasionally use sarcasm tags to be sarcastic about being sarcastic.

I avoid using sarcasm tags, to be sarcastic about being sarcastic.

With apologies to any Catholics, but I don't much like this Pope. He's interjecting himself in places he doesn't belong! Who the hell is he to tell us we need to welcome ILLEGAL aliens with open ****ing arms & confer citizenship on them? Does the rule of law mean nothing to the Catholic church anymore? Shouldn't he be scolding Mexico, which is probably about 99% Catholic, for abrogating it's responsibility to it's citizens? Bowing down to drug lords instead of welcoming business? I'm sick to death of being lectured by the world, especially a "holy" man who's head of a church with assets so rich, they could feed just about every poor person on the planet and barely feel it. I can't stand hypocrisy. Why doesn't the church practice what their current Vicar of Christ preaches? When they do that, get back to me.

I sympathize with those sentiments.
I am at a complete loss to explain the Pope's opposition to capitalism.
Where does he think tithes are coming from ?
Communist countries ?
I feel like telling him not to accept any charity that was gained through the benefits of capitalism.
Collect only from fascist and communist and dictatorial governments.
He might even hold his hands out to members of OPEC, and other royal families.
He might get the British Royal Family to contribute, but I'm not imagining any others would.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

This life-long Protestant is at a similar loss. Catholic teaching puts a strong emphasis on personal morality, starting from the 10 Commandments, including the one about not stealing, something socialism does or would do from business owners (Marx also advocated killing, i.e. murdering them). If one digs a little deeper into the Law of Moses - a Law Jesus said would never pass away - one finds that it forbids favoritism in justice toward the rich or the poor. To the superficial reader, Scripture is hard on rich people;  readers who pay closer attention realize that what Scripture attacks is not having or enjoying wealth, but the arrogance, selfish self-indulgence, focus on material things, and self-sufficient pride into which some who are wealthy fall. The evil is not in the wealth, but, if there is any evil, in the heart and actions of persons who are wealthy.

This life-long Catholic agrees 100%.  The part I highlighted needs to be explained more.  It's not money that is the root of evil, it's the love of money that is the root of all evil.

The mangled & truncated version of that verse has taken on a life of its own. Like the misuse of, "Judge not ...," the underlying purpose is to avoid looking at oneself and risking seeing unpretty things in oneself.

BTW, my self-identifying as a "life-long Protestant" was simply self-identifying as an outsider looking and commenting in. I regard a Christian believer as a Christian believer and my brother or sister in Christ, regardless of the sign in front of the building in which they spend several hours every weekend.

Exactly.
And it ties back into the commandment..."Im am the Lord thy God, thou shalt have no gods before me"
In other words idols.
If you love money more than you love God, you don't really love God at all, and money is your idol.

If you love money more than you love God, you don't really love God at all, and money is your idol.

And if you rely on yourself and your wealth, you have "other gods".
