Is there still a Free Republican website? Who remembers when we went Freeper-hunting? They weren't freepers! KKKarl sent them! They were always Roveing Gnomes. As the little girl said, while listening to static-talk, on the TV set, in the movie Poltergeist, Roving Gnomes are back; so get ready for their con-games!

Directly beside his head.
There were only two options for gender. At last count there are at least 12, according to libs. By that standard, I'm a male lesbian.

Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean NSA hasn't jammed a beacon up your ass.

Well, you don't.

Liberal thinking is a two-legged stool and magical thinking is one of the legs, the other is a combination of self-loating and misanthropy.  To understand it, you would have to be able to sit on that stool while juggling two elephants, an anvil and a fragmentation grenade, sans pin.

That's one pat on the back I won't be getting. I suspect there was a substantial - or entire - contribution to JG's post from :stoner: .

BTW, FWIW, per Wikipedia, Free Republic was started in February, 1997, nearly four years before GWB became POTUS. So GWB and Karl Rove can't be credited with creating FR. I suspect that, even ignoring resident Libs & Progs, there are more GWB- and Rove-non-fans on FR that there are on DU.

I remember initially going to FR from a link on Drudge.  Then there was a big blow up and Drudge took down the link.  Now how I came to be on Drudge I don't quite remember, I use to hit a lot of message boards back then, using Delphi and AOL on dial up back in the day.

Yeah.  The old school.   ::)

Here we go; we gonna send this one out to the old school
All these DUmbasses in the Bronx, and Brooklyn, and Staten Island
Queers, and all the DUmbasses that laid it down, the foundation
Ya know what I'm saying? Nothing but love for the old school
That's who were going do this one for, ya feel me?

I remember Mr.TominTib, bobbolink!  LVL, DUAC raising hell, but, that didn't last-
Spooked911 & Ava was the shit to me

I flip to see a TominTib show, with freepers
And Redstone was puttin in work, sippin' beer

Had my homeless on the hill getting ill, when bobbolink was real
Went out to steal- remember Stupid Beth with Scamdal?!

When William Pitt was puttin' business hours in the game
I can't explain who it was, [Nameremoved]!

Fizzgig had me puffin on that buddha gettin buzzed,
Cause there I was, them block parties in the projects, and on my block

Yo diggy don't stop, Judy baking pies and other slop
Through my speaker Air America, and Ed Schultz

Listen to Thom Hartmann on KZYX, to get me through the night
With CaliforniaPeggy poems all on my screen!
Remember "blink blink blink blink" was the bomb shit, nuttin like the old school!

I remember checking out FR back in 1999 or 2000, when I was an CapitolHillBlue Reader Rant (before it went Christophobic Lib-Prog-libertarian). Its high volume and SW format didn't work for me. I can't remember whether I first heard of DU when I was on United Conservatives, GoldTalk, or The Annoyed Army.

Well, you don't.

Libs act like the past didn't happen, or that no one has an ability to research their wild speculations.

So GWB and Karl Rove can't be credited with creating FR.

Clearly true. Those guys never would have signed off on that shitty format.
