"They're telling me in my ear, 'don't be mean to McCain'." Ooops...Joe slips

Wha-wha-whaaaaaat? I thought you guys were just telling like it is! I thought you wern't scripted or taking directions about how to treat the candidates!

Joe scab, in the midst of a bunch of unintentionally humorous clips of McCain posing with cheese and looking like Grampa lost in the supermarket, stops and says, "Oh, they're telling me in my ear, 'don't be mean to McCain'."

Did they also remind you to rip on Obama again, Joe?

It takes a while to figure out what Pedro Picasso is talking about, but one gets it.

1. McCain has already been promoted beyond his level of competency.

Although I never dreamed that I would see another President as unqualified as G.W.Bush, McCain might be equally inept.

2. Worthless media.

My disgust grows with the entire outfit daily.

I don't watch the M$M at all anymore. Too enraging.

4. The Power Of The Producer

They're the real power on most TV news sets. They're the ones who do most the "dirty work"....while Joe is sleeping or in make-up, these are the people who set up the "shot order"...which guests will be on, what the topic will be...and then when they're on the air they feed questions, direct camera shots and what still pix and graphics are included. My bets are many mornigns Joe ambles in about an hour or so before showtime and everything is laid out for him.

7. Actually, the director directs the camera shots.

The producer "stacks" the show, they decide the order and amount of time for each story. The Executive Producer is the line producer's boss and tells the producer what to do. The News Director (yes it's confusing) is the Executive Producer's boss and runs the whole department, including now days, the director.

With the modern newsroom computer systems that drive the TelePrompters and order the stories, a manager (News Director or Executive Producer) sitting in his or hers office can micro-manage the broadcast.

8. Thank You For The Clarification...

I once worked TV back in the stoned ages...I typed the script on in extra large font so I could look down and up at the same time...reports were on film and they had just perfected chroma key...LOL.

The point is that many think its the personality that has control of the show...and in many cases that's not accurate. There's a lot that goes on behind the scenes on these shows and people who make the big decisions that viewers aren't even aware about.

13. I'm just being picky, but your basic thought is correct.

When I left the biz 4 years ago, the movement was to not use paper any more. All the scripts would be on computer and therefore read off the prompter. Each anchor position had a computer monitor embedded in the desk, so it would be possible to read the story off that instead of the prompter if it went astray. All the air talent wear IFB's so the director and producers in the control room can talk directly to them in their ears.

Everyone is in front of a computer monitor and the managers constantly IM and add and delete stories; micro-managing the whole thing. It's one of the reasons I got out after 30+ years.

11. Phuc GE TeeVee.

On the bright side, at least Joe 'dead intern' Scarborough confirmed our suspicions about the network that employs him.

12. Ever gather that he may have been yanking a chain?

Joe S. apparently seems to revel in the charges the left throws around about the media.

Given that, I'm betting that he's just baiting the "Cheeto eating bloggers who live in their parent's basement (his words)" to see if he can get a rise out of someone. Lord knows he seems to get a kick out of reading the "F You" e-mails that get sent to the show.
apres moi, le deluge

Milo Yiannopoulos "It has been obvious since 2016 that Trump carries an anointing of some kind. My American friends, are you so blind to reason, and deaf to Heaven? Can he do all this, and cannot get a crown? This man is your King. Coronate him, and watch every devil shriek, and every demon howl."

How whacked does one have to be to think that PMSNBC is right wing?

This sets a new bar for DUchebag self-delusion.
When you are the beneficiary of someone’s kindness and generosity, it produces a sense of gratitude and community.

When you are the beneficiary of a policy that steals from someone and gives it to you in return for your vote, it produces a sense of entitlement and dependency.

ladjf, my dear DUmmie, you just removed any doubt about the level of your intelligence.

McCain being "promoted beyond his level of competency"? Do you mean as opposed to Obama who seems to pushed in every news article I read now days?

McCain being "another President as unqualified as G.W.Bush"? Do you mean as opposed to the newbie senator named Obama whose meets your high "qualification" standard by simply saying what you want to hear?
