The boos began as soon as Washington's mayor said she was putting more police officers on the streets in neighborhoods affected by violent crime. They didn't let up for the next 18 minutes as Democrat Muriel Bowser laid out her plans to address an increase in homicides in the nation's capital.
Bowser was repeatedly heckled and interrupted by a few dozen protesters affiliated with the Black Lives Matter movement during her address Thursday inside the sweltering gymnasium of a long-shuttered school in southeast Washington.
Shouting "Jobs, not jails!" and "More police is not the answer!," the protesters accused the mayor of failing to address the root causes of violence and advocating for policies that would do more harm than good.
Bowser, who is black, said she wanted "to make 'Black Lives Matter' more than just a hashtag.'" The hecklers said they didn't believe her.
The root cause of the violence? A shitload of black youth with no morals committing crime.

1. AS I and others have known, and this AGAIN proves, BLM has no target other than ALL politicians and policies that are not part of the solution.
Whether that is a Bernie Sanders not responding completely enough, or Hillary not admitting her and her husbands past misdeeds, etc.
America WILL stop killing Black people or there will be chaos. More like until Black youth stop committing crime there will be chaos.
So BLM is doing a GREAT community service ESPECIALLY for white people, when you think about it.
They are forcing us to come to grips with the reality that the current situation will not stand, WILL not.

3. ...but all the "targets" you mention are Democrats.
Pukes control the senate.
Pukes control the House.
And there is even an African American in the White House.
When will they go after them?
(If I'm misunderstanding your point, please let me know...I'm not trying to be hostile but I personally don't like their methods)
All the Democrat run cities are hellholes of black on black violence... yet somehow it's the Congress that is at fault?

11. What should we do for them?
And then consider that the people that they are heckling will try to do it, and the people that they are afraid to heckle will block any effort.
They are hurting their own cause more than you can imagine. I now live around DC, it is pathetic the amount of killings. Pathetic. I don't know what to do about it. What do you suggest, shout down Democrats?
DC is run by Dems.

2. If the police dealt with violent crimes
it would be one thing. But what we see as reality is that it is petty crimes that they spend their time on. Have a tail light out - beware. Some friend wants to buy a couple of cigs - beware. Fail to meet the cops eyes - beware. Go to a swimming party you have been invited to - beware. Jaywalking - beware.
First they put more cops on the streets and then they give them quotas to keep and well you know the rest.
Two words. Probable Cause. You have to have it to stop anyone. A tail light out. A broken window. A stop sign blown through...
that's how you find other things.
Its the small crimes that lead to bigger things, too. Michael Brown was about a shoplifting call before it turned into what it did.

8. Many police departments are funded by the tickets they write and the arrests they make.
If you get pulled over for something innocuous like a broken tail light, or forgetting to signal when turning (even when no other car is around), the police officer tries to use that as a stepping stone for greater charges.
I guess the Law Enforcement Officers (LEO) are trained to do this.
LEO: "I pulled you over because you failed to signal when turning. Can I see your license, registration, and proof of insurance please?"
then...
LEO: "I smell the odor of (marijuana, alcohol, or something weird)."
You: "I don't smell anything officer."
LEO: "You seem a little nervous. Please step out of the car, walk to my vehicle, and put your hands behind your back."
You follow the officer's instructions. Then....
LEO: "I am putting you in handcuffs. You aren't under arrest... yet. This is just for my protection and yours."
Yeah, right, how is it for YOUR protection if YOU are in handcuffs? I actually heard that statement above on an episode of COPS where a LEO said that to a motorist he pulled over.
LEO: "Do you have any drugs, weapons or anything illegal in the car?"
You: "No sir."
LEO: "Do you give me consent to search your vehicle?"
You: "No sir."
LEO: "Ok wait here. Go ahead and have a seat in the back of my unit."
LEO calls dispatch and asks for a K-9 unit and a drug sniffing dog. Once it arrives it sniffs around the outside of the car, but the officer makes sure the car doors are open, so that any internal odors can be released outside.
If the dog sniffs anything weird, it barks and goes crazy. At that point,
LEO: "Our K-9 unit has detected a suspicious odor emanating from your vehicle. This gives us probable cause to search your vehicle."
At which point, they'll do a very thorough search. You are handcuffed, and sitting in the back of a police car. They already are 80% where they need to be....
Yeah... the K-9 unit lied.

13. Fine. then do the opposite and pull all the cops OUT of those areas.
Lets see how well THAT "tactic" works. The mayor is trying to put forth some solutions, but gets booed for it. idiots.
MAybe they'll like it better with NO cops in their neighborhoods. We always hear that the "rich" neighborhoods get the most security, so why bitch about getting more to the poor areas? Because they're grandstanders.
Several LEOs across the country have done just that. People complain. you can't win.

19. I get what BLM is going for
But someone needs to explain to them that more police presence = less crime = more confidence in business for owners = jobs! Also I wish they would somebody speak instead of hollering and stomping their feet when they don't get they're way. Listen first then protest.
The problem isn't more police imo, it's more police that will actually focus on tackling violent crime vs tackling a black man on the street for jaywalking. I would also may sure to have more black officers patrolling black neighborhoods to encourage a "policing of our own" mentality.
90% of the time that black man jaywalking across the street has a warrant out on him...
