He destroyed a couple of things democrats held dear: the Soviet Union, and the stranglehold of labor unions over the American economy.

Because I had nothing else going on last night (Wednesday night), I sat down and watched this whole thing, from beginning to end, so as to refresh my memory.  It gave me a stiff neck and a massive headache, but it was worth it.

I see now that there's also a youtube available with Walter Cronkite and CBS News covering the 1980 elections, too; I would rather have watched that one, and suppose I will.
